All Race Armor

Ah that makes sense. I don't like the Glitch (at all) but that is pretty interesting lore.

 

My Avian has the Owl armor set, and I thought it would be like second-to-last. I guess I have a lot to look forward to!
Also, I voted Avian before I saw that pic... I chose based on the sets I've obtained in-game.

 

I started Furious as an Apex up to the Durasteel tier so that I could play my Floran Assassin (see my avatar)

Im actually not a fan of most of the armors...I think dyeing might help fix this...for me the vanity slots are a godsend.

 

I'd like to see a black version of the 9th tier Hylotl armor.
Apex 5 and 7 are pretty nice but everything else is ugly (unless I can do the thing I said about the Hylotl armor)

 

I picked Florian because they have the most consistent aesthetic (with the exception of tier 8) and maintain an fairly reliable increase in coolness as your go up in tiers. This holds mostly true for the Avian as well but the upper tier gear doesn't look nearly as cool as the Toucan and Owl armor.

As for the other sets, I find there to be too much thematic inconsistency, and a lot of the armors just don't look cool or reflect their level well.

Human armor just looks weird after tier 5.

The extra eyes on Glitch armor become silly after tier 6.

Hoylt T10, 8, 6, and 3 are inconsistent.

Apex looks alright, but not very striking. Tier 6 looks kinda ridiculous. Tier 2 and Tier 10 looks very similar

Avian armor after tier 5 stops looking like armor and stars looking like circus versions of aztec costumes (can we please just get rid of the Flamingo armor?)

 

Maybe it's because I roll glitch, but that Tier 7 Apex armor sans helmet with a black or dark blue paint job would do me well.

I honestly think the Hylotl armor is the coolest one...DON'T BLAME ME.

 

The Hylotls' Durasteel Diving Suit thingy is freakin' badass. I think the T9 Apex could look pretty good once we get dyeing, and the human Outrider stuff also looks nice.

6. Glitch

I have no regrets with Floran being my first character. T9 is absolutely badass. It's my favorite tier set in the game with T9 Apex being a close second.

Like others have said, the later Glitch sets could have been amazing but the countless eyes seems like something a ten year old would have designed.

I still REALLY want to make a Glitch regardless.

They're quite creepy! Even being a Floran and finding other Floran is a bit of an experience all by itself.

 

I feel meh about the selection. I'd love to see all the racial weapons though

 

I like the early human armors, some of the early glich.

The rest of the armors, especially the later armors looks like how much we can tack on. Where fashion takes over practicality or function.

 

Human I guess. The first few floran armors look like shit but they get cooler in the later tiers. If the first floran armors looked OK I'd choose them.

 

There really isn't a huge difference with the appearance of the racial weapons from what I've seen.

 

Other than the tier 10 Apex armor, I can agree with that statement. The Glitch and Avian and most of the Floran armor seem to just try to look "big."

 

I like the 4th, 5th, and 10th Floran armor but the rest of the Floran armor looks like crap in my opinion.

 

Avian culture mimics that of the Mayans, so giant headdresses and feathery armor makes sense. The biggest Floran set, which is T9, is simply a bunch of red feathers with two giant pieces of bone or two blades on the back.
Seems fine to me. Glitch on the other hand... Those last 3 tiers....

I don't think Starbound has hit the level of absurdity you'd find in World of Warcraft with regards to armor taken to the extreme.
