All Ore Locatable In All Sectors

What if all ore was obtainable in all sectors? Perhaps the greater ore could be found, much further underground, and in lesser quantities on Alpha sector planets, compared to right on the surface and in larger quantities on Sector X planets. This would allow people that like their starting planet, or another planet in one of the earlier visited sectors to stay and build, expand, and adventure, without having to jump to another planet so soon, if at all.

This would also allow people in the Delta and X sectors to collect ore, like Iron and Titanium, from planets without having to return to Alpha, Beta, or Gamma Sector if they don't want to.

This also means if the greater ore was available in lesser quantities, much further underground, then a player in Alpha sector would exhaust that resource much, much faster than they would in a more difficult sector, and have to leave the planet to find more of that resource.

    Thanks for reading!

I don't think planets are deep enough to have all ores. However, perhaps having a chance for some of the ores to spawn on some planets/moons.

Either way, something like this would help get rid of the progression rails, which I am all for.

I always kinda figured a big pat of the game was to go to new planets, and just explore. That will probably be even more fulfilling later in Beta.

Also, with the current system in place, noobs having access to rubium an the like without having any ability to use it until much later seems a bit silly. :/

I think different planets should have different ores, but not based on threat level.

That way, you are forced to explore.

This could also open up the option to constructing an Ore Detection Device for your ship. It could tell you what ores are available on what planets.

This is where I got the idea of having that greater ore being available in lesser quantities, much harder to find, and further underground where it's much more dangerous, in the "easier" sectors. This would also allow people to collect ore, like Iron and titanium, from planets in Sector X without having to return to Alpha, Beta, or Gamma Sector if they don't want to. *updating first post with this.*

I think the point of the game is to leave your starting planet, and explore the galaxy.

That said, I feel like some sort of personal "star chart" feature, that would let you store locations of planets you visit, and maybe add a note to them (i.e. Coordinates xxxxxxx, yyyyyyy - Human Colony [or whatever you choose]) would be neat. That way you could easily go back to worlds you've visited and developed without having to write down the coordinates for later. This way, if you have to leave to find new ores, you can easily return to any planet that you've been to.

This is largely just an idea to give players more options and choice. If the greater ore was available in lesser quantities, much further underground, then a player would exhaust that resource much, much faster than they would in a more difficult sector, and have to leave the planet to find more of that resource.

Sidenote: I agree, in-game sector coordinate storage would be nice! :D
