Age check

Wow. You learn something new every day...

 

Just because the average video game player in general is 35, does not mean the demographic for Starbound is the same.

For example, do you think the same genre of people play some Barbie game for the GBA, as Dark Souls? The poll is of course asking what the age of Starbound players is, personally I don't care as long as you use the mic after you hit puberty.

 

Should have probably made the poll an age bracket set of choices.
Example:

12-16
17-21
22-26
27-31
etc

Anyway, I am 27

 

There are very few mature adults out there too.

Edit: I admit to being one of those that is not as mature as he should be. I play video games all the time and love animated movies.

Obviously the OP here misjudged gamers today being that as Sowaka on the first page says, The average age is MUCH higher then what is perceived by many.

 

You can play video games and still be mature about it. You just don't go around screaming swears in the mic and making a complete ass of yourself.

And I like animated movies. That doesn't mean I should be decked out in a boy scout uniform playing with a plastic compass. Lots of true adults watch animated films, sometimes with their kids.

 

In that case, I'm a true kid.

 

Unfortunately, this frequently occurs. It takes the fun away from chatting to strangers.

 

To say maturity and age are unrelated would be false. I.E, there Are a lot more immature 14 year olds to mature 14 year olds than there are immature 21 yr olds to mature 21 yr olds. I too am glad the votes indicate an older fanbase.

 

Better question... Do you think this poll would work for a My Little Pony game?

Honestly though, it doesn't matter that much to me, I just don't find the poll particularly eye opening. I'd rather know how many 14-18 year old players there are compared to people aged 25-30 rather than how many 13 year olds play it vs. 14 year olds.

no one honestly listens to *rules*... if ur 10 ull just sign up as 13 <.< i remember when i was a kid id put my bday as 1990 instead of in 1994 to get around that whole bs of "not allowed on if ur under this age" no one can really stop you
