It is more of a suggestion thread, but also could be an alternative to a FAQ. Of course there will be consequences for dying in the game, yes (Tiy stated that they still have not confirmed what exactly is going to be implemented on death penalties). With each difficulty level there most likely be a greater consequence. But aside from the death toll, I would like to focus rather on the implementation reinitialization of life; respawning. [Figure 1: Ah yes; it seems we have come to choosing what we love over what we need.] Some rumors and/ or suggestions are: Respawning as a genetic clone Save/ Load feature (dying brings player to last save file) Respawning in real-time and back at spawn-point (Terraria spawning) Respawning as your ghost and revitalizing your dead body Before respawning, you choose what items you want to keep (say there's a finite amount) Have your ship beam your body back to the spaceship to be rehabilitated (no underground) NPC care; an/ a group of NPC's retrieve your body and bring you back to life [Figure 2: Or, if else you could just insert another quarter for another three lives, but hey, it's worth it!] So in conclusion, there will most likely be a death penalty implemented in the game, which could vary on standpoints such as difficulty, location, and other circumstances. But which is left unanswered, is which method, stated above or not, will be implemented and what should we expect about life after death in Starbound.
