Closed After last Patch(es) my game will no longer start...

So after the last round of patches that deleted everyones ship lockers , I could not log in that day to find out . I uninstalled the game and have reinstalled it 3 times now thru steam . Every single time , I get a...

StarException: Cannot open FileLogSink with Filename ..\starbound.log

and I will not open with the standard launch either , just about the same error...
Any help with getting this working again would be awesome...haven't had a chance to start my new game and its been , what? like a week since those patches? starting to get twitchy....

Sorry for the late response, Demonoid. Can you do a few things for me?

1. Find your crash log. It's a file called starbound.log located in your Starbound directory, which you can find by right-clicking the game in Steam and clicking Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files.
2. Open up the crash log, CTRL+C its contents and upload them to Pastebin.
3. Reply with the link so I can document it.

no mods , never use them in any game I play . Like I said in the first post , I had been playing for 48 hours total with no issues , those last group of patches that took the lockers away , I couldn't launch that day , so deleted and reinstalled Starbound 3 seperate times now to no avail...

 

1) Delete your starbound.log

2) If you can't delete it, check Task Manager and make sure there are no starbound*.exe processes running

3) Click the "Diagnostics" button in the launcher

4) Fix any problems it mentions.

5) If it still crashes after fixing everything, run the non-OpenGL starbound and post a new starbound.log

 

Well , that was odd

I went and deleted the starbound.log , ran diagnostics , didn't have to do anything and now the game runs fine , tried it 3 separate times now .

Thanks very much two both of you for taking the time to help me out , now I can actually play again...but of course now I get it working again on the same day my Theme Park Studios early access comes up
