Advanced character creation

In Terraria you could edit the characters colors (Hair clothes etc.) and it will probably be in Starbound too. But my idea is there would be a advanced button in the char. creation so you could edit every pixel of your character to change the costumes (Pants shirt etc) look and style! But the downs of this idea would be you would need to edit every animations frames. And because everyone has been saying that people could make insulting skins so my second idea popped up! There could be a ''ban skin'' button somewhere to ban a persons skin.

 

I'm all for advanced character creation if it means my character doesn't look the same as all other letters of the alphabet. I reckon we won't be disappointed with Starbound's character creation though; if there is a lot variety between worlds then what would stop character creation having the same diversity?

 

I'm incredibly excited to hear about the character customization! I'm not so sure that it will be so in depth though you know? It seems very hard to implement Of course there would also be people who would write horrible things on their armor as well. Though, come to think of it I am giggling at some of them. It would be cool but so many challenges to trip over :<

 

I can already imagine if it was implemented the kind of provocative things kids would be playing, oh joy. I don't think armour would even be the problem.

 

I was thinking the really creative ones that would make their armor flash insults, like those slow advertisement boards with the red lights? does that make sense?

 

This seems cool. But at the same time it sounds like a troll's best friend.

 

What if you start with normal skins, then you can post the custom skin on this forum to have it approved, and you would make the skin with a in game editor?

 

Yes you would use a in-game editor. I think that would be nicer at least.

 

This would be an awesome and brilliant idea. I know Terraria had like fancy vanity items that made the game feel more lively and fun. But making an entire character out of scratch with each pixel being drawn into by yourself is pretty neat and awesome (With making it feel unique!).

Don't worry, I don't think their character sprite is big enough to add those vulgar/offensive words in .

 

This idea reminds me of the character editor from Cladun x2, creating a character from scratch via pixels. I'd love for this to happen, but I'd doubt it due to coding difficulties or some other similar problem. You have my full support though! By the way, regarding the abusive antics of trolls, Minecraft didn't have many problems with vulgar skins (considering they are fully customizable), so I sort of doubt that Terraria would.

 

Developers, please. We need this.
