Notice Addressing Beta Questions

For the guys asking about time when the game is going to come out.
I have no idea if this is correct but when the guys at TrendyEnt were updating Dungeon Defenders they said that Steam is "updating" their database at 6pm CET (Centra European Time). That's when Steam is adding game as well as far as I know so I'd expect it to come out around this time
Use http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html to convert 18:00/6pm to your timezone if you want to have an idea. But I might be completly wrong

As the person who hosts the server for practically every game for me and my friends, how are servers going to work?
I am guessing that there are no dedicated servers for this, so I'm assuming port forwarding will be required, is there a restriction on particular ports?

That steamprices site is saying that Saints Row III starts out at 79.99 euros so I'm not sure how to take that.

 

When pre-order will be closed: in Steam immediately after purchase we get the beta version?

 

I can't wait, my birthday is a week away from today, and it's going to be a good day from beta release, and far into it's completion.

 

Actual price of Saints Row IV is 49.99 - 19.99 (-60%), i can't see why the third should cost that much

I got confuse "Characters are saved locally."
As said by the Devs servers could force a new character to enter them, if the characters are all on client side, will we experience the same Terraria madness with Tshock Inventory Checks?!

 

This issue will be a pain to handle. If you save the characters on the servers, you must know the server owner/s or you can't be sure they wont hack your little Starbounder.
If i remember it right, there was a game (maybe Sacred) who didn't let you use your online character in single player, AND the game checked the integrity of the saved file to be sure it wasn't modded. But i guess this can be hacked too

 

Will this game have things that only devs can access like swords or armor?
Will you be able to send your new characters to your other characters homeplanet?
Will you be able to level up (more hp, more damage etc)?

 

geez you can be naked in this game :/

 

Being saved locally is probably just for the beta and really how many people are going to make public servers for a beta that's going to change quickly?

 

I have one question myself. If we use the steam key on the 4th to participate in the beta does that mean we can't download a none drm free version to play?
