I haven't posted a suggestion in ages, and I haven't done much pixel art either, so I decided I would change that. Having just made the Acidic Clan (click the lizard in my signature for the thread), I thought the best idea would be an acid launcher! Here goes: The acid launcher would be a look a bit like a flame thrower, and will require the use of a gas mask. It will require ridiculous amounts of (possible pressurized, to make sense of so much acid being in a small tank) acid in a tank the player would be wearing on their back. This acid will need to be pumped into the backpack tank while it is connected to a large acid storage tank, and will drain a lot of acid which would later be pumped into worlds. When the acid is shot out, it will go out in a stream and flood a place with acid and then any enemies there would be turn in to molten enemies . Also, if player x kills player y with this, the death message should be: Player Y got face melted To prevent griefing, there should be an option which prevents other people using an acid launcher in your home world. Also, an idea could be to make it a liquid launcher instead, which could be filled with any liquid one pleases. Here's an apex with a gas mask shooting an acid launcher
You should be able to make acid resistant walls, or hydrophobic armors, which when hit the acid has barely enough time to corrode said matter, and instead, falls off into the lower surface area. Yaxlat, make a thread with a bunch of acid related items, it would be awesome, and your pixel art is very good. EDIT: Just noticed you said it would only hurt enemies, not corrode blocks, so maybe make corrosion an element of this idea? (1 acid entity = two blocks melted.
You say my pixel art is good? . Well, a bunch of acid related items is a good idea, since I do ur the acidics clan... I might make "Yaxlat's Acid extravaganza". The corrosion of blocks is a nice idea, but maybe only terrain blocks. The acid will still go everywhere though . I'll that in later, when I can be asked.
Could be good, tought the wannabe scientist in me feel the need to remind you that liquid and solid cannot have the volume they occupy reduce by pressure. Still, if we are talking very strong acid all you really need is a small sprayed cloud to cause quite a bit of grief to whatever it hit. Or have it sort of like that old acid gun in the original Unreal Tournament, a blob of gel that cling to surface, burn it and then eventualy sort of explode to damage what is around a bit. Lot's of way to use acid really it's never ending fun. I would not have it leave permanent acid tough. Not in a spray gun form at least. I still want acid pool traps mind you, the alway popolar implement of any evil-genuis home base.
liquids can be compressed it is just a lot harder to do than for gases(In fact there is a point where solids can be compressed as well...) The best example is the ocean if you go deep enough the pressure will crush you hence the need for submarines... another good example is in industry highly pressurized water can be used to cut steel and you forgot about pressure washers.... with enough force you can compress matter until degeneracy pressures kick in (both electron degeneracy and then w/ enough energy you could reach neutron degeneracy pressures but there is no way we could ever get enough force to do this) after which it gets a lot harder... (though you could theoretically continue to pressurize it w/ enough energy eventually resulting in a black hole... but this is near impossible w/out the force of many solar masses pushing in on all sides or the equivalent there of...) nice idea OP... (though I don't know about the acid sticking around in the environment.... perhaps it evaporates? (at the consequence of the next rainstorm....)
