Really that's the thing that was very lovely on Terraria and it is an important part of games this type.Just add a few slots for them, implement some basic boring accesories and wait till community makes hundreds of cool(balanced or not) items to be added in the game. You can even go further and implement two more types of accessories - weapon and armor upgades. For example different looted or crafted armor may have special slots in which you can instruct different additions like resistance to special damage, fall damage, temporal lava shield, small flashlight, energy recharger, or for weapons different slots for laser pointing device color changers for laser-type weapons, damage changer for simple weapons, poison for bows or crossbows and bla bla bla.Just add slots, wait for the community to create everything else.....PROFIT! Btw why don't you add an option so you could just take modder's content, add it into the game, and write authors name in credits in special place maybe giving him a few 'vanity' bonuses as a reward for contribution? it will speed up the game develpment VERY much.
Yes and no. Techs are limited to a specific slot and how they can be mixed. Terraria style accessories would allow unlimited combinations, but not necessarily limited to ability effects. Some could be simple damage boosts, increased jump height, etc.
this is going to be implemented in the full game. They already have the dye itself, just not the mechanic (you can get them in admin mode)
Accessories could completely replace nano suits instead of what i got going on here: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/alternate-non-op-version-for-nano-suits.96931/ just change all the suit upgrades into accessories.
