About that valentines day update...

Valentines day was 3 days ago. Please leave that shit out of the next update, especially if it has any equivalent of that "holiday spirit" stuff that dropped instead of pixels like half the time.

I wouldn't mind as long as I get decent items out of it. Terraria holiday stuff is really useful but starbound is mostly cosmetic stuff no one will use past the holiday. So I say lets see what they got.

 

No relationship mechanic, no trading mechanic.... I dunno.

 

im gonna say nay until there is a better way to enable or disable it, especially if it effects drops from the regular random mobs. still have my fingers crossed for setting our pc's system clock

 

im some part i agree with you, i really got annoyed when they made the christmas update and monsters start dropping so often those spirit holydays to craft christmasitems. but "enabling or disabling" the valentine drop would be kinda weird. why not just make drop along with the normal mob drop? i mean if the monster drop pixels they should drop also valentine drop. after all its an event drop so i dont see how can be wrong just let the monster drop it normal drop along with the event drop. thats kinda better.

 

yeah that would be nice =) my thinking here was entirely selfish im not ashamed to admit. id like the ability to disable the valentine event entirely by changing the date on my machine rather than be reminded every time i play that im a bitter hollow shell of a man

 

I'm not sure how I feel about the holiday spirit-style drops... Maybe just a way to make the stuff with pixels instead? Or minor crafting materials. The drops were more of a nuisance than anything.

As for the actual items being added to the game, I'm all for new weapons (as long as they're comparable/better), decorations, and cosmetics, no matter what the theme is.

 

Valentines goodies would seem a bit odd at this point... I'm ok with it as long as it's just adding to the sorts of things I can craft or as chest loot or randomly generated decorations. I didn't like the holiday spirit drops, either.

 

not only should they add it, they should re-add the christmas stuff as well. i get it, you want seasonal holiday content. however, some of us don't care about that sentimental crap and just want to enjoy the content for what it is. at the very least, it should be a toggle option in the menu.

 

I want a valentine biome planet.

Only if we get a chocolate chip cookie biome planet with oceans of milk and ore made of nougat. I have needs.

 

I'm going to have to say nay on this one, because I don't have much excitement for Valentine's stuff. I would much prefer to have things such as procedurally generated quests.

 

Nay. Pointless now. I'm personally not in favor of any holiday fluff 'til the game's more fleshed out in general.

 

I actually wouldn't mind there still being the holiday stuff, no matter the holiday. The only exception is that i wouldn't want it to be drops like the christmas event. I would much prefer a craftable solution, which is how I modded the christmas stuff back in. That in a way is the best or well i think it is the best way to go about it, as then it is up to the player whether or not to craft the stuff or leave it be.

I don't really know how they are going to add the holiday stuff, but just would be nice either as toggle like someone mentioned or craftable primarily. preference to the latter bit, which is something I would mod in anyway, just to have the full content; like the rest of the stuff in the assets...

 

Meh, I'm not a big fan for Valentines Day stuff, and I'd honestly prefer quests. Really excited for the other features coming in the patch though.

Nay. If a holiday themed update of any sort is gonna be dropped, it must be dropped at least 2 days prior to said holiday. Add chocolates to the game, add red velvet cupcakes, add a bow that is red and has a .05% chance of turning a mob friendly for 30 seconds and call it the Qpids Bow. That is fine with me, but leave the over the top stuffs to be crafted if we really want to.
