Well, this makes all the difference. If only CA had known sooner that someone on the forums was anticipating the next update, maybe he could have finished it sooner.
Soon~ Give him time he's working as fast as he can. Sometime next month he said, so you don't have too too long to wait. It'll come just have patience.
^ And really, he said that like two weeks ago, so we may only have another couple weeks if we're lucky. But these things can't be rushed, you just gotta be patient.
As with most folks said, I think we're all pretty excited for update 1.1 and are hoping it happens sooner than later...heck I wouldn't be surprised if CA himself is one of the folks who wants to have the update done sooner rather than later. But he is only a single peep, and in the end it is likely better that the update happens when it happens at the pace and quality CA feels happy with. It is really the ultimate benefit of being a fan of an indie game than a AAA game where deadlines will often mean a rushed product where they had to abandon several things just to get it done. Nothing wrong with being excited and hoping for the update to happen soon...but the other truth is chances are CA is busy working on the game and not really reading the forums unless its something in the suggestion/bugs section.
If you can't wait for the next update, always remember No Man's Sky before rushing Indie programmers. We don't want to happen that with our precious Stardew Valley.
I'm guessing the content part is down, he just needs to test for bugs and get it copyrighted or something? Your asking a lot considering there's one developer.
I get given some of the posts y'all are tired of this but I feel like this is probably one of the most innocent impatient posts I've seen so far. That being said they are right and it does take time.
I can't fault anyone for being excited and a little impatient. Goodness knows they are probably just vocalizing what most of us are inwardly thinking.
All of us are looking forward to the update. The hard part is finding things to do while we're trying to be patient and not be annoying. I recommend a good book. Or the puppy someone mentioned earlier. Or go for a lot of walks. Cause once the update is here we probably won't be spending a lot of time enjoying the outside and fresh air!
I'm sure the fact that you personally want it done instantly will make ConcernedApe rush to answer your request. Did it occur to you that this is a free update? That he doesn't owe us a thing? Come on, indeed. Settle back, do something else, and forget about 1.1 until it shows up.
Collective action has always been far more effective than people acting alone. Therefore if the update isn't release soon we all might have to do something drastic. I propose that as a group, we the forum members, with unwavering devotion to our cause and never taking our eyes from our goal... Oh wait a minute, there are some new movies to stream on Netflix, bbl...
While I certainly understand the desire to have 1.1 now. I do think it's important to let CA take his time. In my experience with gaming, rushed content for the sake of just getting it out for players isn't always a good thing. Content can be poor, animations sloppy and have a unfinished look, and major (possible game breaking) bugs are missed.
