So, the whole system is supposed to work like the MS paint program, you make your own items in-game and you can only have them in single player. You get to draw them into a in-game paint system. What does everyone think about this idea?
Interesting? Yes, maybe. But Starbound's modding will be so simple you could just make a config file for this certain item, draw on MSPaint and then just put it on the game files. There would be no need to make an editor ingame.
Nah, it'd be so fun. So it like, made the config file for you with options you chose such as attack speed, you know?
I think it would be kind of a waste of time unless it was fully customizable, it WOULD be cool for a sort of 'cheat mode', for example you could make a bioscanner or a nuke.
This could be pretty fun, depending on what types of "colours/materials" you apply the stats could be diffirent. But there would be a limit of pixels you can use depending on your level, or maybe the anvil/workstation you're using.
I think a system like that would work well if you had to pay for each aspect of the gun, so rate of fire, damage, ammunition type, how much it can hold. This would mean there was no actual limit to how good your gun can be but if you wanted a ridiculously OP gun you would need a hell of a lot of money.
