Sometimes Abigail (wife) has said that she wonders what everyone in town is up to lately, as if she is unable to leave my house at all. I think we should have an option to let our wife/husband follow us while we run our daily errands. Abigail also has always wanted to go down in the caves, so maybe we can take them there too if they trust us enough to protect them. Our pets should also be able to follow us around, I have always wanted to take my dog into town with me when I leave my farm. Edit: Thought of an addition, if you have your wife/husband out with you and talk to someone they will be involved in that conversation even if it is briefly saying hi it's something.
I agree ... all in all the social system has lots of potential to be fleshed out (i.e. taking wifey out, meeting with friends, going on adventure with wifey and many other things).
