ABC files for playing music in Starbound

When I found out this game let's you play abc file music on instruments in the game, I literally screamed for joy! I have used ABC files in other games, and I've even made some of my own. I have 200+ songs at the moment and planning on getting more.

If anyone would like a copy of the song files I have, I would be more than happy to share them with you. If you are looking for a buddy to play music with on the game and/or have a recording program with which we could make awesome Starbound music videos, please let me know!

I am really looking forward to finding more people that are as interested in the music aspects of the game as much as I am. Of course we will be actually playing the game as well. How else are we going to find all the different instruments lol.

I would be very interested in a copy of your song files! Unfortunately at the moment I don't have an instrument on my current character, but I'm searching high and low for one. I'm already trying to collect lots of custom music files so that I can entertain/annoy my friends when we play together.

Keep in mind that the in game song playback still has some issues though. Some ABC files end up sounding wrong or even crashing the game completely. There is a Thread for discussing, making, and sharing custom song files here on the forum. There is also a website being built around making/sharing Starbound ABC files with its own forum, which can be found Here. You may want to share your collection there. I'm sure people would appreciate it, especially if the files play well or at least don't crash the game.

 

Oh! Awesome, thank you for the info. I looked around the forums a bit for stuff about the ABC files and didn't find anything before, so I guess I should of looked harder haha. I have been testing out my song files when I can to make sure they work on the game ok. A friend had told me about the crashing and other bugs already too. I am going to be going through all the files and renaming them for easier access in the game, and checking to see which ones work ok with the game and which ones don't as well. Once I get that all set up I will probably check out those links you posted, and maybe just host stuff on there if it's easier.​

 

I've got a collection of about 200 songs from LOTRO fansites (none of which I made). Of those I only kept the ones that sound good.

 

Could I possibly have a copy of your song files? I REALLY enjoy hearing the music in the game (especially when the people sing with cute voices)

Hello, hello! I would love a copy of your abc files. currently I don't have many though I am trying to find a decent list through LOTRO website. Also, if you are on a live server I would like to play in a band with you as I have a few instruments including harp and ocarina.
