A thorough explanation why Saibot Studios is beating Starbound.

Ok, I'm probably not the most mature person in these forums (though I'm one of the oldest ones for sure), neverthless, I can see where this is going towards and I don't like it. No one is doing anything illegal in this case, not even unfair. If our game needs our support, we have to do that by voting it, not by clustering and stuffing the E3 site with possibly false nominations.

Also, saying bad stuff about this guy does not help, if it's a personal issue, then, that should possibly be expressed in a different situation and context, not here. Also, saying that our rivals are not worthy of winning doesn't really help, instead of that, describing why Starbound should win is the way to follow, in my humble opinion. We are all cool people, guys, don't let a moment of rage make us all look bad.

 

Like I said in the other Thread about this, it does not matter. If people want to vote they will vote if they are invested they will be invested. Just because you don't enjoy this person's content or what he is doing gives you no right to go out on a tangent against him. Watch where you're flinging your stones my friends it could quite easily come back to us in the end.

Take a hint from the article in the newsletter about the 'E3 Crash'. Go about this as respectfully as possible, throw your hat in for the company you wish to see go to E3 and continue on your business.

Personally: I don't understand how some people haven't realized it's a popularity contest.
Using Facebook and celebrity exposure is "unfair"? Let me put it this way: Popularity = Exposure.
Example: Viral videos, whether shocking, funny, or stupid, are popular because of their rate of exposure. Literally why they're called "viral".

That is the nature of the contest, regardless of its intentions.
If people want Starbound to win over some asshole who just wants a free vacation to E3, I suggest that they work within the means they are given.
And if they believe that the contest is rigged, invalid, unfair etc under the current rules, to just walk away because after voting they have literally done all they can.

 

I think it's all said already, guys, keep it clean and respectful, that's all. I also second the idea of closing this thread for good.

 

This type of stuff happens a lot with 'referrals' or 'nominations'. It's essentially a popularity contest not one based on actual performance, skill or some other attribute that actually matters. Unless you're going to create thousands of bogus email accounts to vote for Starbound, or whatever, then there's no use in griping about it. Though I certainly disapprove of the man's selfish motivation as well as the sheep like behavior of his idiotic fans. No one thinks for themselves nowadays...

So mature of you, getting high and uppity. Acting like you're better where in fact you're worse. Did I say I'd kill him? Quote the words, liar. Where does it say 'I will kill him' where? Exactly, nowhere. You're stuffing your own words into my post with your interpretation which shows how your mind thinks. I said I'd hunt him like a deer. 9 out of 10 times I go deer hunting I see them and don't take a shot, patience and fair chase take precedence. People like you, that is what is wrong with society commenting on stuff they know nothing about. Sad society allows non-self-sufficient folks to survive and claim they are smart.

About that mis-interpreted sentence: In this context I meant you chase them down and make them worry. Keep them on their toes, with this guy keep calling him out for what he is and what he said in several places. If there is one thing cheats and liars do not like is attention, because just a little scrutiny makes them fall apart in front of all. But hey, whatever. You made up your mind with assumptions so even a detailed explanation like this does no good to people like you.

EDIT: Ugh, just realized the fool I replied to joined April 2013. More of the newer people ruining this forums, but that is a whole 'nother discussion many of us had and agreed to many times before.

 

LOL Backpedaling hard, much? There's only one meaning to 'hunting him down like a deer' and it doesn't mean you're sharing tea and crumpets with him or 'making him worry'. I legitimately laughed out loud. Give me a break with your crap. And then turning around and saying I'm what's wrong with society as opposed to...gee...I don't know, the one that's comparing a complete stranger to deer and shoving their opinions as facts. Logical. And then you make yourself even more like an ass by making forum join date relevant whatsoever. Get your head out of your ass, buddy.

 

I don't like to come back in simply to repeat myself, but, it's not being mentioned nearly enough, and I may just make an entirely new thread for it but, we're wasting a lot of time arguing about the fairness of what Thaiel is doing, when we could be focusing on defeating him with our own merit. Every one of us should be brainstorming or telling their friends, and spreading the word about Starbound to get Starbound more votes, not discussing a way to cut Thaiel down, which, there is likely no way we can do. There's no one who can stop us from simply putting Starbound on top by voting it there, not removing the only real competition in the contest, even if it seems illegitimate to most.

 

So so sick of this, guys. Stop making this contest anything less than fun.
