lol, maybe because petty tantrum throwing people deserve a little ridicule?

This forum can be pretty cool, but whenever any ticking-timer starts up people get so impatient. Laughably so. People start demanding answers, updates, and apologies for anything less than absolute delivery. There is no point in reminding users that the game is constantly being developed and that schedules are bound to change and adjust often. It's almost a moot point because no one wants to hear it.

The moment the patch comes out, everyone will vanish from the forums until the announcement for another update. That's when the petty tantrum throwing will begin again. And I'll be here. Laughing my ass off.

So are the arguments the basically are we don't like waiting. Also there is no way for any of us to speed up the process we are not the devs. All the negativity does not speed up anything it just makes the community look immature and impatient.

Another harmless thread is going to fall victim to the same people as the last threads.

Atleast it's not like during the pre-beta pre order era, there was way more illogical negative "shareholders" then there were logical people like now.

Yeah there is somewhat a solution, it is called don't beat a dead horse.. Mods took care of the previous thread because of arguments so this discussion is just restarting flames and begging to be attacked by the same people who you guys make fun of.

4 delays doesn't mean people are being "laughably impatient." Also, my implication was that there isn't much petty tantrum-throwing actually happening, just that the pro-CF circle-jerk crowd are making everyone who disagrees with them out to be a stark raving lunatic. If anyone deserves a little ridicule it's the people making a bunch of passive-aggressive remarks at their opponents' expense. Instead of ridicule, I'll try the "report a moderator" function.

It's a thread that levies a personal attack at members of the community, even if it isn't specifically naming them. You can bet if I called you a petty tantrum-throwing brat, I'd be reprimanded. I most likely will be just for mentioning it as a hypothetical situation.

Really there vague at best no actual person was pointed out. Also these delays have not been that bad it's not like the patch was pushed back a year.

In fairness, the whole game has already been pushed back further than that.

yup but not the patch which is the current issue in all fairness.

It's all the same at the end of the day. Useless ETAs and missed target dates, time after time after time. It's no-one's fault but Chucklefish that they've burnt up all the goodwill they had with some members of the community.

There was never any set dates or deadlines. They used phrases like "Should be by [. . .]" that expresses an element of doubt or uncertainty (and considering this was noted to be a substantially difficult update to deal with, with regards to phasing out character wipes: something undergone to satisfy us), it means we should take it with a pinch of salt. And it means they are saying that it's done when it's done, but you can hope that we do release it on the day we have estimated. Patience is expected of you as a customer, you have received your functioning product which is eventually going to receive it's next improvement and there will be many more after it.

The disappointment is warranted, I agree that communication could offer more clarity. I don't like the way that has been handled so far. But that ridiculous outrage was unnecessary, it will taint us all as a community not just a few of us if this continues.

So yeah, perhaps it is good if this just stops. Please?

ETAs are useless to begin with. Even if they're right.

haha, yea shareholders is the perfect term for it.
It's not like people are straight ganging up on each other.

Consider this: People come to these forums because their exited about the game. Do you think most of us like hearing endless complaints about how unprofessional CF is? It's rude, and it's prevalent. If there was a forum section for CF critique, most of us would totally avoid it because we just don't want to hear that crap. But, obviously, that isn't a solution. So, in the meantime, while we wait for the patch we can sit here and try to calm some nerves in the community forums.

I don't understand this reasoning. You're lumping everyone into 2 categories (at least that's how I read your post). Either people are commenting with reasonable complaints about the game/patch, or we're jerking off the game developers. You're leaving out loud mouth whiners, moderators, spectators, and anyone who is basically just saying "chill out, it's not that big of a deal".

I like to think I fall into the last category. Btw, everyone chill out.

Not really the same beta release and a patch release are to different things. Especially with the delay being way less compared to the beta release. Also I had no clue you were the whole community. Maybe all these positive people responding to these hyperbolic baseless accusations prove your statement false when it comes to goodwill.

No one is allowed to complain until they visited Tiy's house and said that they'll code for him because you want to patch to come out faster.

This community is already tainted all to hell. It's one of the worst I've dealt with, but not for the haters and the ragers and the crybabies. I'd rather deal with them than with the people who think the devs can do no wrong, and that you can't criticize them while still being hopeful about their product in the long-term.

People are ganging up on each other. Also, there's really no way to describe the notion of "I don't want anything negative on 'General Discussion'" other than "bullshit." General Discussion does not imply "Keep it saccharine and positive or GTFO." There's more than two camps, but they can be generally grouped into "People who are happy" and "People who are not," and there's a lot of hostility towards the latter, regardless of how they present themselves. Probably because of a mentality of "I don't want to see complaints because this forum is only for people excited about the game, and people excited about the game shouldn't complain." I'd also like to point out, I am perfectly calm. Almost all of us are. I think I already addressed the fact that it's funny people assume complaints = not calm.

I'd also like to point out that while "shareholders" isn't a proper analogy, "investors" isn't far off. Early access is crowdfunding, no matter how they dress it up. It pretty much only exists as a business model to get capital for small devs so they can keep the development train a-rollin'.

Devs can do wrong they are human. But complaining about something that we can not in any way change is dumb and causes useless stress. Also this community is fine go on dota or league to see tainted.
