A special mob depending on the season

this is a good idea because it will encourage people to explore space more when it is thanks giving or easter or something so they would travel planets to find this special mob.

i think it would be cool if it dropped a themed item say... if it was easter you could have a shot gun that fired chocolate eggs and it looked decorated like an egg and had a ribbon on it or something

That is a pretty cool suggestion. But since their are different planets wouldn't it be complicated. I have yet to hear if their will be seasons.

 

Yep, same thing with the holiday season suggestion, different planets would make it wonky.

 

Best solution would be an actual holiday planet on holidays, like fallout 3 dlc for example you get a new quest and the location of the special planet to visit.

That would actually be pretty cool

"you get a distress signal from a planet that seems to magically appear on your intergalactic radar.." type of deal.

 

I actually kind of wonder about the randomly generated mobs right now. They don't have a lot of personality...I mean sure they have random combined body parts...but when you really think about it they are all the same size, colors, etc. The random generator overall could use some more features to it and seasonal monsters would be great! That or monsters who live underground seasonally.
