A race of your own creation.

An idea that's been floating around my head for some time... After seeing the many race mods available at the moment I started thinking; If you could make an official addition to the list of available races what would it be and what would its specs be?

Here's mine:

Lizard/dragon Race.
Medieval styled civilization (similar to the Glitch).
Classic Chinese dragon-shaped ship design.
Race weapons are curved fang shaped in design.
Race armor ability: fire/magma resistance + greater heat than other race armors.
Preferred home planet for rand-generated towns: magma planets



What would your ideal race be?

 

Something unique and not a furry. Maybe something with a body made up of smaller creatures working in unison with directions from a central core, simply taking on humanoid shape.

 

We could have something based on the Hindu deities...
All of their worlds would contain destructive Meteors, to properly honor Shiva the Destroyer...

Okay, maybe that wouldn't work.

 

A race who's heart is a contained singularity. Sort of like a opposite to the novakid. Their body's are made up mostly of inorganic matter. Their only interest is in the gathering of as much information as possible, and storing it in their massive libraries; never to be seen again. The playable character is a curator on an field study.

 

That sounds like the description for any organic lifeform

 

anything that is none bi-pedal, seriously its outerspace~

 

Generic 60's Sci-Fi Movie Alien Race.
A sort of advanced society focused almost completely on scientific advancement (Think of the Salarians from Mass Effect).
Ship design would be based off of U.F.O.s
Race weapons are made up of different floating parts that are held together by a mini-gravitational field.
Race armor ability: 50% more damage with laser weapons? (Placeholder. I'll probably come back later and think of a better one).
Preferred home planet for rand-generated towns: Moons.

 

This could get really weird when they expand on mounts and pets. Can you imagine a 4-legged thing riding a 2-legged thing?

 

Arthropods.

Preferably mantises or arachnid humanoids.

Man-sized mantises would be almost as badass as Florans.

 

Sloths
Urban styled civilization Graffiti on walls, grunge, etc.
Space ship:

Weapons would be bats and other house hold objects
Race armor ability: Climbing on walls
Preferred home planet: Jungle

Like the post above about smaller beings creating a bigger individual. There's this race I've always been fascinated about that I've read in Anvil of Stars by Greg Bear. In that book, they described a race of beings known as Brothers made up of non-sentient wormlike creates known as Cords that would join together and become sentient beings known as the Braids. Very fascinating and would like to see something similar in the game, even as an NPC.

The way I see them move would be like a blob of cords clump and move almost slither like, but with arms and what would appear to be a head.

 

Something furry and not unique.
I'm actually quite fond of fur and i'm disappointed that all we get is monkeys. Monkey fur is bleh.
I have my own race suggestion in my sig, for example.
For those who are lazy, they're basically space mice. Their culture is varied, as they've just fought their way out of slavery and are only just realising they can wear whatever they want.
Their technology is like avian tech, but only the futuristic stuff - not the primitive stuff. (I decided that before i knew what avian tech looked like >x< )
Their weapons are golden and feature various crystals, their blades are made of energy too. Their racial armour bonus would be the ability to climb walls like a ninja!
