So, I was screwing around with the Character Creator, specifically the pose part. Obviously, the character creator, while it is not final, is an approximation of what the in-game one will be like, and by extension, what your character looks like in Real Live Starbound. (Yes, this has a point.) But how does the pose editor feature in the game? There are a few options. A) This is how your icon looks in the title screen This is the default pose of your character (not very likely) C) The devs just put it in there for us to have fun (although in a livestream Tiy changes his new character's pose. Does anybody know?
Poses 6-36 are just to show off the animations, they aren't really "poses". The other ones are actual poses which will be the default pose of your character when standing still.
"Poses" actually aren't really going to be in the game. However, there will be something called personality that alters your idle pose to one of the first 5 of the pose list. It was called "Poses" and not "Personality" because they have all other animations from game including walking, swimming and more. There is also the possibility that "Personalty" alters something else about your character, but nothing has been confirmed other than that it changes your idle pose.
