Feedback A point about poison rain

So I have a boat. It floats just fine in water. It floats just fine in poison. It floats just fine in feakin' lava. However, somehow, it starts falling apart real fast when it rains on a toxic planet. Weird...

I also have some poison antidote. I can step in a poison puddle just fine. I can take a bath in it too. I can dive in poison oceans for fun. And yet, somehow, when it rains, I suddenly start dying in agony. Weird...

Even better, that same rain is nasty enough, that it penetrates the ocean's surface for a few meters and deals damage when I am underwater underpoison. Can we please make this crap consistent? Poison either damages boats or it doesn't. Player is either immune to poison or (s)he isn't.

Just make rain apply the "poisoned" status the same way regular rain applies "wet" one. Get rid of random damage ticks. Problem solved.

thats what you get when someone makes a simplyfied weather effect.

I'd say that random damage ticks are actually more than simplified. What I suggested (applying a status like a normal rain) would be simplified. And it would also solve all the issues I mentioned.

On a completely unrelated note, burn resistance spray does not allow for lava diving.

Well that would be because it's ACID rain, not poison. Which is also why the EPP doesn't protect you from it.

then it would make sense that the burn resistance spray will protect you from.. well, burns.
Anyway the idea of the rain applying poison instead of random damage ticks should be a thing

Acid burns and fire burns are different things.

And given it's acid rain on toxic planets, meaning it's actively corroding you, it doesn't make much sense that it would poison instead of dealing direct damage.

That said, it'd be nice to have some means to protect against acid, which appears to be the one pseudo-elemental source for which there's no defense.

type /admin andjump into lava, the damage numers i
maybe but the acid rain continuing to burn you underwater doesn't makes sense. also you are in a full bidy suit thats even oxid providing, so how does the acid rain actually daame you without causing heat issues because if its that much acid to damage your suit it should also damage the heatprotection.

What I usually do to deal with a toxic planet, is instead of using a boat, I use the water sphere. It actually moves very fast across liquids. It won't deal with the acid, but with an antidote you'll have protection from being poisoned. If you use a healing III augment and tier 4+ armor you can navigate through acid rain without losing to much health, so long as you also use medical kits once in a while. With tier 6 separator armor acid rain actually has a very hard time hurting you and you only need to use medical kits very rarely. Again, antidotes and healing III can let you cross an ocean with a water sphere very quickly.

I don't mind to much that acid rain acts realistic in that it's corrosive rather then straight poison. Actually I kind of miss the weather on tier 5/6 planets and wish acid rain was a possible thing to deal with on lower and higher tier planets. It's silly to me that only toxic planets have acid rain when planets like venus are practically smothered in it.

also scorched planets could easily ahve ti too as they resemple the remains of broken overindustrial worlds.

There's this small issue about the "acid" rain. The oceans are made of poison, not acid (even though it's used to make batteries, so it probably *is* acid).

So... it rains acid, but oceans are not acid... what? As I said, we need more consistency. Either separate damage types and defence methods for both, or unifying both as one and making antidote work against it. If rain is to still deal damage, some way of protecting one's boat (and oneself) would be appreciated.
