A Newb's Question About Installing the Nightly

I am using Steam, and I have Starbound, Starbound - Unstable, but no nightly.

I do not see the options to install another version, can anyone help me out?

 

Right click Starbound-Unstable, select Properties, go to the "Betas" tab and opt into nightly.

 

Hmmm, when I do that, the drop down window will not work (as it it won't drop down - when I do it on the regular Starbound it just shows "NONE - No betas available")

Is there a code I need to add the beta or is my steam just screwing up for some unknown reason.

Ehh, that's strange, the issue itself is not unheard of tho (and there are really too many threads regarding beta to go through for a forum search).
There's no code, your steam is just screwing around probably.

One of the maaaaany things that came up while searching is simply restarting steam (derp).
Another one is uninstalling the unstable version and that opened up the possibility of opt-'ing in.

 

I figured it out.

The launcher was running. I turned it off. Now it works.

I'm really glad i prefaced this all with "A Newb's"...going to start doing that in other aspects of my life...

 

Installing the Nightly was the second best thing I have ever done (buying Starbound being the first, obvi)

The only thing that is rough is the changing coordinates, so I'm stuck looking for that carved bone blind.
