You're still a clone. However fundamentally you are the same person. You are a copy of the being that you once were.

It's a tricky question :/ I tink no :) Coz your selfconscioussness dissapear when you died :) The other version of ou will have maybe the same thought and memories but they count as a different person : if she experience different then you did , she is an other person. SO by being cloned, she is already another person :) See what I mean ?

Of course - if you die and you get cloned even if all your life, memories etc were put in the clone, technically you're not revived. Others may think they are dealing with you, hell - your clone will think he is you. But you, as you are will be dead, forever. There just will be your identical copy claiming your life for itself and continuing living it.

If you think about that, that means that every time you gain a new experience, you become a different person (As I said in my post), which is why it doesn't matter if it's a clone or not.

Yeah clearly :) that's why twins can be really different even if they are genetically similar. They are different since the foetus, the position of one can influence who is coming out first for example.

Technically no, you haven't been revived. While that clone has the same memories and experiences it wasn't the same individual before.

Its easily rationalized, imagine being cloned right this instant, the clone has the same memories and experiences right up until the cloning. You would be two identical individuals but not the same person. You can't control that clone of you and that clone cant control you, you are two separate individuals. If one of you dies, the other will survive and continue having experiences. This is of course assuming there is no such thing as a soul, which in the context of starbound there isn't. (I don't think theres a soul in real life but I'm not going to get into that)

You can't experience nothing, however once you've died, thats it. Any clone of you is a new individual, they may be you to other people, but it isn't actually you.

nope your not revived because as a clone your you without ever being you your actually just that guy who lives down the street who believes hes you and happens to look identical

Hm.... but what if you somehow survived your near-death accident, but the machine had already created a clone that has all your memories? Who are the real "you" then?

Look at Pain in Naruto :p He is pretty well with his soul in multiple body :p

Really what makes you, you is your brain. A clone may share the same experiences and memories but not the same brain, it isn't you.

Well to be fair Pain actually controlled each of those corpses using chakra rather than his soul. He was one brain controlling many bodies, not many brains belonging to the same person.

but your brain is changing overtime so you dont have the same brain you did before

    Well then.

Regardless, it is what makes you you.

I'll put it this way, say you wiped the mind of another, random individual. They look nothing like you, but you put all your previous experiences and memories right up until that moment. Is that person now you?

No, they aren't, they have a different brain, they are a separate individual. If you die, you die.

I was refering to the fact that he is conscious of 6 different bodies ;) he can see through the 6's eyes at the same time :)

what if the clone had your brain completely reconstructed

  20. Sousuke Kuroda

    Sousuke Kuroda Spaceman Spiff

That would be true if your brain was moved. Or if your conscious being (whatever that may be) was put in the new body.

From what we can tell, the clone is just given a copy of your memories and experiences. They aren't the same individual.

Yeah I know, I'm just pointing out that he's connecting his single brain to each of those individuals. It isn't as though each one is a clone of him and they are all just naturally connected to him.

    EDIT:

It wouldn't matter, unless that brain was physically moved from your body into the new one, its a different individual. You and that individual can exist at the same time and each have your own new memories and experiences. You may share the same past, but you wont share the same future.
