I decided to help protect this little merchant friend of mine from the horrors of his environment! It slowly evolved into me making a somewhat crude house for him as per my girlfriends request. I think I will start doing this for all the NPC's I meet that are alone. Far too often I watch these little friends fall victim to their own ignorance.
The well that you built off to the right is a nice touch. I say you tear out the left wall, though, and build a little, connected, wooden farm filled with wheat or rice, or some other sort of crop, so that he doesn't starve. Heck, he's a human. What do they like, chilis? Plant the man some chilis.
If there's a USCM bunker on a planet, I'll help evacuate people to it, if not I build them shelters and come visit once in a while. I primarily only assist humans though (Since we're nearly extinct)
Sweet. You did a really nice job. I had no clue that NPCs could starve to death. Even if you build him a farm wont he just eat all the food and THEN die?
They can't starve to death, their only threat I know of is creeps. I think they just wanted me to make it more realistic lol.
According to the OP, I'm not the only crazy person making houses for these poorly prepared merchants.. Hooray! However, the houses I do make are out of readily available resources which equates to a "crude house" that would probably get you banned from some minecraft servers.. >.> That's right.. I make their houses out of mud and/or stone! And I have been to servers where "ugly mud huts" was against the rules... >.> I was even mod on such a server and banned people for that reason.. The rule was generally enforced in towns and Spawnville and we didn't care if it was out in the middle of nowhere.. Then again, I hadn't played that game in years.. Back on topic, I see the OP either likes stone bricks like I do, or just had a lot handy (like I almost always do).. I almost always have stone brick and wood handy for impromptu building projects..
