A Generated Monster Every Friday!

Actually, this is one of the unique ones. It's posted on the main news page, along with a new outfit.

 

Doesn't really matter, people seem to put ALL the monsters here.

 

Yup, I just found out about this a few minutes ago. My bad.

It's still going onto my List of Desired Pets.

 

Generated monsters vs uniques.

Generated monsters:
Build themselves from a pool of body parts, walking animations, attacks, etc. They are tier-able by different colors (or wearable items). Basically the simpler of monsters you encounter.

Uniques:
Don't have a pool of body parts because their look, attacks, and animations are unique in the way they it's hard to build into the generated monster pool to work correctly. Still tier-able by different color schemes or accessories. The penguins are unique but you could potentially see pink or other colors if they wanted to add that. The same goes with these monsters.

This is just me speculating, of course.

 

Penguins aren't a unique type, we have seen variations already

 

Monster list jumps straight from 67 to 98. Just letting you guys know...

 

make it gray and only have four legs and BAM! instant terror drones

 

Reminds me of the Dwemer spiders from Skyrim! Makes me a happy man!

 

so long as we dont get any dwemer spheres/centurions (the big robot dudes) I'm happy. those are a right pain to kill.

 

Totally, I remember all those millions of reloaded saves from those annoying dungeons. Though, those Centurions looked quite badass to say the least.

This thread makes me simultaneously excited and sad cuz I know I'll never encounter any of these amazing random monsters...

 

And yet you'll encounter countless dozens of others that no one else will find, either!

 

I hope we can name our discoveries.

 

Pokedex!?! Or... Stardex!?!

 

Can ya really think up billions of names for billions of discovered creatures? I dunno if I could think up even hundreds of names...

 

Right, but what if we can only name the ones we found first, and be able to see the names of monsters other people found first? Since monsters are randomly generated, we will always find new monsters, and with other people naming the rest of them, we might be able to have a complex system in which all known monsters are named by players.

 

Perhaps in ginormous Multiplayer... what about Single Player?

Not to mention what about Griefers & how they might name stuff...?
