i have ofen thought about this game and some ohter similar when i have played starbound and thing from it that could have easly been added to starbound, that would only improve the game, also no i'm am not talking about bullets or ammo that many have been suggesting before

the things i am talking about
    • focused aim the camera follows the cursor, this could easly be added for some of the guns in the game and would help a lot with aiming your weapon, also we can already move the camera by holding ctrl but not in the same way

    • double jump obstacle in qusets seening that we already got the double jump tech which is the most used tech in the game

    • the arenas are perfect for pvp, this is the kind of type of arenas that should be when you guys adds online pvp it could also be good for arena quseting seeing that arenas are coming

    • quick death respawn this would also be very usefull in pvp battles, i'm not saying that we should remove the respawn animation we could actually use the animaton in battle like a cool down
    • the jumping pades are fun to use could have been fun to have in starbound
    • useing only the spawneble weapons thats area dungeon maze
well thats most of the stuff i'm talking about that could have been very fun to have in starbound

also enough talk about ragdoll physics. it was not the point of this thread. maybe in a starbound 2.

I played this game, too bad that starbound does not invest much more in ragdoll physic

I agree, this game needs ragdoll physics.

To be honest Ragdoll physics was the last thing i thought of when i thought of this game, many have suggested this before, nevertheless it is possible to add ragdoll physics in starbound and it would be super cool if it had but it would most likly take a hellans long time to program because of the engin starbound uses also because they would have to program and adapt every characters and every customizable item and every monster and every random monster part etc in the game to adapt to the physics too etc, the only pixsel game i can think that have it is super time force ultra, you two should sheck it out if you didn't already know of it, its on steam ands its really cool it also got time travel

Ragdoll physics would be awesome, but yeah, it'd require a huge change in the engine. Maybe post-1.0 if the devs feel like it.

Gotta disagree with Ragdoll physics. The changes to the engine would be too great and there's already an angry horde biting at the devs heels for the game not being released yet.

Are people being serious about rag doll physics? I thought it was supposed to be a joke. Not like a real request for Chuckle Fish.

It was more like "eh, it could be fun, but doubt it'll happen".

I think atleast ragdoll physics on some things in the game would look super cool, but again its probably not gonna happen. That game you linked is suprisingly fun though..

I am necroing this thread because i felt that i never got any real answers (from the players i mean) about this games pvp comparison to sb's pvp theoretically speaking since its not added yet.

I should probably also take some pictures of the game play and sb's game play to compare so i can show what i mean but not right now because i too tired right now.

Tried the game you linked for a few minutes, and I'm not a fan of the camera following the cursor. It's disorienting and makes it hard to aim. The current system is better. However, the game's ability that crouching makes you more accurate could be useful. I think Starbound's gunplay could be improved if the AI and players could crouch behind cover and popping up to exchange shots.

I dunno about locking areas behind optional tech. Imagine you didn't have double jump, started a quest, and then found you couldn't proceed. You'd have to go back, activate the tech, and then restart the level. Too slow. This isn't a metroidvania, after all. Also, I'd argue against obstacles built with a single solution in mind--instead use obstacles that you can beat with double jump or spike ball or skirt around with morphball or come up with a clever solution using some other tech.

Jumping pads might be useful. Or maybe blocks that have that ability. Slime blocks, for instance.
