A Floran's Reaction to the Cave Paintings in the Mysterious Party Mission

( My apologies if I do something wrong here, I'm pretty new to making forum threads)

I was going through the floran party mission using my floran character. I really like using the inspect button to see my character's reactions to things, and so naturally I inspected the cave paintings to see what my character thought of them. The first two paintings I looked at brought pretty generic responses, but the last two cave paintings brought some very, very interesting reactions.



(This image shows the first cave painting. On the painting there is a large figure giving a strange symbol to two smaller figures, which I assume are florans. The symbol looks like a circular eye with a slit pupil, there are lines around it making it look like a sun. The large figure has a blank spot in the middle of it's head. My floran's reaction is "Floran made the wrong allies once...")



(This image shows the second cave painting. The painting show several small figures kneeling and bowing to the same large figure from the last painting. There is a sun behind the larger figure. My floran's reaction is "All Floransss know what this meansss.")

I've never seen anything else referring to these figures, and I've read a lot of floran lore/inspected a lot of things as a floran. I haven't read all of the floran codices, though, so maybe there's something about them there?

So, does anyone have any thoughts/theories about these cave paintings? I thought they were really interesting and I'm surprised I haven't seen any other threads about them.

 

One of the paintings further along in the cavern as well as some of the lore explains something else in the Starbound universe. Something very, very big, both figuratively and literally.

 

theres another painting of some strange octopus beast in wich when I inspected as a floran made it say "..."

the painting can be found in a secret shortcut that goes underwater

at the end of the shortcut to be more precise

 

I believe the giant figure is Greenfinger. Might be a reference to the Jolly Green Giant on bean cans.
A common idiom is "having green fingers" which means you are a good person with plants and growing things.
If you examine a Floran bookcase as a floran, you will say, "Greenfinger read book and make metalman"
The paintings might be Tentacomet, one of Greenfinger's many experiments.
When you read the Apex journals, you get lots of references to Greenfinger of the Floran working with Big Ape on some secret science project.

I have discovered it is called the sun cave art

considering the humans and the floran seem to be the only one who has a clue about it I suppose it would be a tentacle monster that took place on the infestation of earth, the fact that it is in a floran cave and that the florans seem to refuse to talk about it

I suppose the tentacles may be something caused by the florans or a failed experiment made by greenfinger, but the florans still support greenfinger and refuses to talk badly about it

EDIT (aka more information): In mysterious cave art (the one depicting a giant holding a sun) and ceremonial cave man (a giant being hailed) I suppose it is highly probable that the giant is greenfinger and that the sun is the possible tentacle monster that could have invaded earth, greenfinger showing his newest creation that ends up as a total failure and starts infestation on multiple planets, a humiliation to florans everywhere

RE EDIT (almost done): Considering the florans seem to have some sort of ego, a humiliation like this hurts their pride and decide to do as if it never happened

Gotta love the lore in this game.

 

Another possible view would be that the giant is not greenfinger but actually a REAL giant that might still live deep inside the floran's natal planet

A giant that has once arrived to the floran planet in wich would have started the whole way of life of the florans, but the giant had another plan in his mind, perharps the giant was the source of the infestation and the floran's planet was too strong in vegetation to be infested by the tentacles, so instead of infesting the floran's planet, the giant decided to fool the floran by making them create the life of the Monster who invaded earth, the florans were unaware of their error and was backstabbed by the giant, what happened to the giant and the florans after is still a mystery

the florans being terribly hurt by this treachery refuses to talk about it again

 

Personally I think that the giant is part of the same ancient species that uplifted the avians, I've read through a few avian codices and many of them refer to the 'sunborn' which is what the avians call their winged gods. Considering how the giants appear to be associated with the sun, I don't think that this theory is a huge stretch. When I take a look at the symbol in the first painting, and the entirety of the last painting, it seems like tentacomet is connected with the florans and these sun giants, which means that if my theory is correct, avians, florans, and humans all share history and lore! That's pretty cool, at least in my eyes.

And hey, since the glitch were apparently built by some ancient civilization, and considering the glitch's reaction to the paintings, why not lump them in here too? The sun giants built the glitch, uplifted the avians, messed with the florans and created tentacomet which really messed with the humans. It all wraps together into one neat (maybe too neat?) package.

 

Y'know, I wonder if any of this has a connection to the tentacled... things that are depicted at the tops of the Outpost Gates.

 

Twist plot, florans are the big one

 

It really is great.

I just wish I knew why my avian suffers a ship that praises Kluex...

What does the human said about the paintings? I only played as a Floran and also though about the strange octopus ball being the one who destroyed the Planet and I am looking to read that the human says...

Also, I love the Hylotl description for the Mysterious Cave Art: "What have the Floran done?"

 

I think the comments by the humans on the last ones sort of confirm it's related to the tentacle thing that attacked Earth.

Also it seems that thing might be related to more than just the humans, which I never thought of before.

 

Hey guys, the sun picture, doesn't that look awfully like the Solarium Star? And what's with the reaction of the Human? Does it have something concerning the beast that destroyed Earth?
