Poem A Flawless Starbound Christmas

but

 

my poetry, my good sir,
is quite profound,
yours however,
is the best around.
your musical talent,
I shan't protest.
I'd rather read your rhymes: the best!

 

Ah, you're right.

 

The art of poetry, my friend,
Is great by all when penned.
You flatter me quite so,
But all deserve to know,
That I pray for many rhymes,
Of all strange shapes and size.
This contest is outstanding,
And not at all demanding.

 

Enough rhyming
I'm dying

 

I am not rhyming,
I solemnly do promise,
Extravaganza.

 

Thats not very fair
But do what you have to do
This is fun indeed

 

'Tis quite fair indeed,
For rhyme it does not.
His good health to me,
Is quite important!

 

So....Nice...

 

Oh no! Don't cry! Ummm.....ahem....

It's alright now little guy,
There really is no need to cry.
Happy daydreams, all of these,
Laugh instead if you so please.
Holidays are great, and full of fun,
So get out there and go find some!

 

This poem is one of the two entered into the contest so far that I really like, with "A Flawless Starbound Christmas" being my pick for clear winner in its category. I've no skill at poetry, so I'm probably not qualified in any way to pass judgement, but it seems like it was effortless for you to work the rhyming scheme without it seeming forced at all. Kudos, man.
I did have a good laugh when I saw what Santa had brought. Regular war-hound is our old St. Nick.

Thank you! Every poem, no matter how great or small, is a labor of love for me. I can assure you that this particular work took a fair bit of time, but every moment was well spent.

Yeah... I've tried poems. And been regularly shut down. And rightfully so! I'm more than content to just admire my betters in this respect.

 

Well, I've tried my hand at short stories and I can tell you now that a rabies-infested chipmunk could do better. I just don't have the knack for it, and so I stick to what I know as you do.

I admire those that can write them, and never aspire to write my own.
