A few suggestions after playing for awhile [updated] ~

    DibJib Phantasmal Quasar

FIRST OFF, I love this game so so so so so so so so so so so so much!! I'd been waiting a long time for a good harvest moon like game to happen, something that would compare or even be better than what the devs of harvest moon were doing. This game nails, and SURPASSES all expectations I had of anything similar to a harvest moon game, with only a few nit picks.

Some of these may already have resolutions. I've actually only played till Fall of the 1st season (I play rather slowly and like to experience a bit of everything)

    Improved Descriptions -

So a couple of descriptions are pretty lacking. Don't get me wrong, I love finding things out for my self, but it's sometimes very frustrating when I'm unsure how something works or what to do, especially with no real tutorial in place besides the TV (Which still doesn't help much). For example, during the Luau, I thought I had to bring an actual prepared dish because the text was confusing, when all I really needed was a harvested crop for the pot. As well as the speed-grow. 10% doesn't make much sense, in my own opinion. Since plants don't really grow (that I know of) on tick by tick basis (I believe they hit a new stage after you go to bed), 10% doesn't mean much. I could just be confused though, but that's the whole point of this suggestion. Also, it took me quite some time to figure out how to use the bait on the rods, so some tool tips would be useful as well.

    Planted Crops -
I'm a VERY organized person when it comes to inventory management, how things look, where things are, ect. In this case, it would be nice to have something showing what I planted. For example: I planted some corn, later on I totally forgot what it was until it finally grew, but wanted to plant more corn next to already planted corn. So something, maybe craftable signs or even a way to inspect planted crops would be very useful. As for the wild seeds, inspecting them and having maybe a ??? come up would be fine since, you're not really sure what seeds they are, and that's the point, right?

As an example, you could use seed packets to maybe post on a sign what's planted. You wouldn't loose the seeds, they would basically just be used to show what's where, then once the sign is broken, it can be replaced and re "imprinted" I suppose?

A way to cancel charge-up on tools -
So this was actually something a friend of mine brought up. I actually haven't gotten an upgraded tool with the option to charge up, but I believe his gripe was not being able to cancel it out if in case you accidentally used it. In his words: "There just isn't any cancel animation is all. I cant cancel my charge up and can accidentally water a different way or throw my fishing rod a different way and not want to and waste energy"

    Fishing -
Well this is a pretty well conversed topic. I actually quite like the fishing mechanic. When I get done catching a fish, I feel like it was a lot of work, a bit too much work, which in the end sort of makes it worth while. However, I don't see a reason for the initial casting bar? Perhaps it does more later on, but for the first few rods, I don't see a real purpose; the line goes out just as far as a low bar hit with a max hit. It could just be that there's not enough length distance. As for the actual mini game, the only suggestion I'd have is a way to hold the green bar in place. The option to descend with right click seems...unnecessary (I don't actually ever use it, I've caught plenty of fish), since the bar drops pretty quickly anyhow, but keeping the bar in that sweet spot while the fish is not moving is very tasking.

    The Calendar-
Oh boy. So there's 1 price in the game that I do not understand. Windows are 800g? 300g? I'm not in game so I can't remember. Either way, that's low for a window, considering the glass, the cutting of a hole in my wall, the frame, ect. But this isn't about the windows. This is about the CALENDAR. It's 2000g?? A window is worth LESS than a calendar. Not only that, but a Budget TV is LESS than a calendar as well!? I understand it's just a decoration, but the calendar is something that already exists in the center of town. Not to mention, it's a couple sheets of paper. But it's not like having a calendar renders the town square useless. The quest board is there, so you'd still have to visit that spot regardless.

    Liked/Disliked Gifts -
So this isn't a hugely important suggestion. When giving gifts to people, you have that nice icon to show if you've already given them a gift 2 times a week. It'd also be nice to maybe see some page that shows what gifts they liked and what gifts they didn't like, based on what you'd given them already.

    Weapon Swing using Mouse -
So another thing I've been thinking about is how awkward it is to face an enemy and hit it. For those areas in the dungeon where multiple enemies are surrounding you, having to face them first, then swing is very...not difficult really, just awkward. My suggestion would be to make the mouse the point of direction you want to swing. So which ever direction you click around your character is where the sword would swing. That way it's much easier to direct attacks.

The reason for the Calendar price is because it makes it super easy to find birthdays, seasons, dates, etc from the comfort of home, rather than walking into town. It's certainly a late-mid-game item, and it's priced as such. I accept the 2k pricetag, personally.

Late mid game? At 2000g? I understand this isn't Harvest Moon, so there are differences, but the calendar comes with the house when you first move in. As for being in your home, that's not much of a perk. You can easily get to town by heading to the right, it doesn't take that long.

I've mentioned in the community list there should be a 'starpedia' in the local library with tutorials on everything.
          Planted Crops -
I think a tooltip when mousing over crops for a second would be nice. Show the crop and the stage that it's in. Afterall as a farmer, we should know these things. I'll add it to the list! Good idea. :)
          The Calendar-
I have to agree here. I feel like it should be 200g, and was a mistake of a 0.

You can already tell this by their reaction.. Could you clarify this point?

So for example when you give the person a gift, you can go into the villagers menu (where you see their hearts) and then where the gift box is (maybe make it clickable) you can show a box with both liked and disliked gifts. The disliked gifts will show under dislikes and liked will show under likes. Not really to show you EXACTLY what they like (like the collectibles menu does) but more so it shows you what you've given them and if they liked or disliked it.

I will admit it IS rather disheartening that the two people I ended up giving birthday gifts to so far are the two people that dislike me the most now, solely because they didn't happen to like random berries.

This would be cool. I can't count how many times I've hoed up a sprinkler or a scarecrow by accident. :) LOL

I'd just like to say that I also have the desire to be able to inspect plants to be able to remember what you actually planted.

                    Zoolandoon Void-Bound Voyager

I'd say down grade the price of the calendar to 500g and add a new item "The Pocket Organizer" an item for 2000-4000g you can keep on yourself that has a calendar with a spot where one can place a couple of items in the birthday/holiday slots as a picture, a way of marking what items you might give to the person next birthday/event once you figure them out.

fishing... I'm actually ok with it as it is.

canceling a charge ability... meh. Nice to have it, would be a low priority. one can just eat an extra crop to regain the lost energy in necessary.

the Extra descriptions/tooltips for things and crops I can get behind. I occasionally forget what seeds I planted where during the first days of a month.

Yup. More tool tips would be very helpful, or like I said, maybe a way to make signs. There's enough room around planted crops to put up a sign in which maybe seed packets can be used to display what's planted where. Like posting the seed packets themselves on the signs.
