A Characters First Steps on a Planet??

hey i'll get a Dev to read this so it will be possibly implemented

 

Wait Wait Wait have we already mentioned Cortex command?
it has the perfect kind of thing to be used in starbound your pods can be used as a attack force as in drop it in someone's head or be used to land and take off normaly but it can also be shot down so that would open a hole new aspect of gameplay in case someone shot down your pod and you'r stuck in some alien world and need to build a new one.

I think that was discussed, but simply put it is easier some times to get people out of a situations then into one. As I suggested the player may be able to drop with a construction kit that could build a hanger or landing pad for shuttles. Or along the lines of Warhammer 40K the player could act as a known location, so it would be easier to beam the character off the planet then onto the planet.

 

I think this is look like a dropship... Amiright?

 

If it can be done, I'd prefer to ride a warp star all over space. Instead of a ship, ya' know? Kirby's warp star is much more capable. It can even transform into the Starship! Also, it'd be much more epic crash landing onto a planet from a warp star.

For some reason I never thought of us actually using it.
That'd be a pretty cool way to land for sure.

 

Well we have to get onto the planet some how...And since they have the drop ship...I would imagine we will be using it.

 

I think the first planet you are on, you crash into, because I think I remember hearing that you'll have to find and restore the space station to inhabit it. I could be wrong though. Otherwise I think you'll be using the dropship.

 

You escape the destruction of your homeworld, that's probably where the damage factor comes from.

 

Oh yes. And from what I can assume, you either crash into one of the orbiting satellites or another planet in the system.

 

Or perhaps your potential Space Station?

 

If I remember right, you find the abandoned station first. After the destruction of your world, you escape in a small shuttle. That is when you find the station. I do not remember a part talking about your crash landing on a planet before finding the station. Plus it would be very hard to get up to the space station if it is in orbit and you have no ship to get you there.

 

and after that you enslave all of the civilized worlds and cause a huge blood orgy thing (aka universal war) and take over the universe and destroy all the planets that bug you!!

 

I won't rush Tiy on making an planetary entry animation, but it'll make a great future patch feature.

 

I like the idea of multiple methods of getting down to planets, some more/less risky then others depending on the situation.
And yea, this probably should be moved to one of the suggestion sections by now.
