Replying to thread content is one of the fun parts :(

True. But what would be necessary to satisfy the OP would be a method to include this feature in dungeons created by the player themselves, not just the computer generated ones. There would have to be some way to link all parts of the user-created dungeon to the protection device once placed somewhere inside of it. The process should be similar so doing this shouldn't pose a big problem should the devs decide to include this functionality (please do!)

Many have said what I've been looking for. Here's that list again, plus a few of my own I haven't seen here yet:

    1. Hidden rooms. Activated by switches (or multiple switches), blocks that look opaque that become transparent when you're in the room,
    2. Moving platforms, or disappearing platforms like Mega Man. Make those jumping and platforming challenges a little harder, yo.
    3. Maze-like. Sometimes I like getting lost in a dungeon. If not truly maze-like, then a section sort of like the lost woods, where you have to figure out the directional puzzle (or some other kind of puzzle, mind you!)
    4. "Bonus" puzzles that require either a second person, or require a single person to place an object, etc on a pressure pad.
    5. Decorative items, etc only obtainable from dungeons (at least before 3D printing them).
    6. Dungeons that "refill" after a period of time set by the server. Default for the single player game could be set to "never" or something, but it'd be nice to have indestructible dungeons that would sometimes become inhabited again. Not mandatory, but an option. Decorative items removed would refresh, monsters would respawn (and possibly reroll what lurks in a dungeon), treasure would be back. Give some incentive to leaving non-player landmarks outside of towns.

It would be cool if you landed on a planet with precious cargo on a timed mission. You have 24 parsecs to build a fortress with sufficient defenses or traps to stave off a massive invasion consisting of 10 or more waves of trockdors (small goblin like creatures) from both sides of your settlement at the same time. You lose if they penetrate your defenses and physically touch the cargo.

This would have tremendous appeal for the multi-tasking warrior in us, clans, or raid teams.

The ability to let your pets defend your dungeon on it's own. Say you want the perfect boss? Why not take the bugger off of it's planet and design a rancor pit where your little friend can feed on unsuspecting explorers? Also blocks that when stepped on, are either destroyed or retracts to let the player fall down a pit (a trapdoor?)

The one thing I want above all else is a built in tool like Terraria's TEdit or Minecraft's MCedit. Without those, making adventure/puzzle maps is a pain.
Actually, that brings up an interesting point. If you edit a planet or something, have the devs stated whether it saves a world file to your computer (again, like Terraria/Minecraft)? How else would we be able to share our dungeons?

One big problem: Invincible blocks = Most powerful grief item in any game.

Instead you will probably be forced to tell people to not break blocks, which could be problematic if your friends are immature and like to cheat... But hey, hopefully a solution will be made.

you forgot some trap ideas. ehem*
    • Lava Traps
    • Spike traps
    • Axe Traps
    • Rube Goldberg Traps - they looked great in Goonies
    • Traps with in a Trap - Trapception :giggle: couldn't resist
    As for other ideas:
    • Conveyors
    • Jump pads
    • Teleporters - if possible
    • Temporarily Dungeon pets
    • Aid the boss, whom you do not know is the boss, till then end of the Dungeon. I liked that idea in Link to the Past
