It seems in just about every sandbox game, there's always that one guy that's kind of different from the others.
He isn't building a home, or planting a garden, and he isn't out adventuring.
As a matter of fact, you haven't seen him in a while.
So, you walk into that dandy little cave he lives in, and you immediately discover what's going on.
The door slams behind you, and you're trapped in a puzzle filled, jumptastic, monster infested dungeon.
I always loved creating dungeons for my minecraft/terraria servers, and I plan to do the same in starbound.
I'm sure there are a few dungeon crafters/explorers here on this forum as well, which is why I started this thread.
So, the obvious question is, what are you hoping for in natural/ player made dungeons?
    We the people hope for~
Keys of different tiers. traps from dungeons, player made traps. locks, snakes, giant boulders, being able to wire traps from the builder, the ability to give blocks more defense/invincibility, booby-trapped chests, custom death messages, secret rooms/ stuff to create secret rooms, skill based obstacles, things to make dungeons difficult,
item scanners, logic gates, illusion blocks, wind/ gravity pushers, vines, vertical/horizontal moving blocks, self destruction,

Snake pits and Giant boulder traps.

Edit:Maybe a "fake block" that looks like normal blocks but the player and mobs just phase through...

hmm..being able to wire traps from the builder itself.

Like, the traps are connected to the builder?

I'm hoping they allow for some way to make blocks/creations that are difficult to destroy. Without this traps and any sort of dungeons made from players on a vanilla server are usually wasted; If they aren't disguised well enough or trap the player quickly they are easily avoided/exploited.

yep, wiring levers to doors and traps, stuff of that sort.

Good old fashion shell game death booby trap always has great appeal. A dimly lit room with 3 glimering locked treasure chests, pick the wrong one and boom, you and the room vaporized followed by the death comment

    "<username> has chosen... poorly"

    I laugh at that everytime.

Juice Box wants secret rooms that require a keen eye and alot of skill to reach.

Those are always fun, but scary at the same time, especially if you have little to no hints on which one to pick.

I would want REALLY hard dungeons something with a lot of loot chests that have only mats or pots in them

Yeah, super hard dungeons are always a fun challenge.

Just thought, it'd be nice to be able to attach item scanners to doors, chests/ anything that can be activated. Simply select the item you want it to scan from a menu, then, it will only scan if you give it the item required.

So, in your dungeon, you may need to bake a cake to open a door to the next level, or you may need to get a seed to gain entry to the grand tree dungeon.

Item scanners would be awesome. <3

Mostly, i want to be able to set dungeon "ungriefability", and i hope there's a good wiring system, with logic gates, so i can make nice puzzles!

    Yes for logic gates!

I always wondered why no games have "coded" wiring/blocks like a 1 or 2 or 3 digit code to insert in your tool to dig/destroy other user placed blocks. Just this simple trick will make dungeons a real challange and trap warded rooms something special. (my english suxx, i know.)

In the road map, the stated that they're going to implement an item that protects the dungeon, so you can't break the dungeon blocks until that specific item is destroyed. You could just hide this item somewhere only you can access (if they have unique keys), or in a sealed room (if that's allowed).

    Few things.

    1. One already was mentioned, illusionary blocks, which are indistinguishable from normal ones without stepping on one or without checking them with some sort of special equipment. Always good for these nice and friendly bridges over pools of spiked acid lava.

    2. The "wind". Invisible (perhaps visible with special equipment) area, which, when a person gets into one, forcefully carries him to another place and that is it. You can't go back through the wind (again, equipment may be used to bypass it). Sure, this feature, if used in conjunction with unbreakable protected dungeon bricks, can be used to throw people into unescapable traps. But oh well, I suppose suicide option is a good feature to have anyway.

    3. Vines for vertical climbing. Unbreakable and breakable sorts.

    4. Moving horizontal and vertical platforms.

I've decided to start replying only to thread titles and not thread content.

With that in mind: I'm hoping for world peace and sweet potatoes. Or world peace through sweet potatoes. Y'know what? Keep your world peace. I just want some sweet potatoes.

    Thank you.
