I saw this appear on my Facebook, where you said there was a stable update coming and it was a big one, and I have to ask... By "stable update" do you mean another real update to the game for people not participating in nightlies? ...or do you mean "a nightly update that won't break"?
I don't visit the cesspit known as social media, so some confirmation on their official forums would be really nice.
Well, I have confirmed, its on their facebook page, no idea, unless its just a generalized "we are still working on the game, and are adding lots of stuff!" for the people who don't follow the main forums. A way to get back in touch with fans that have taken a break while CF kept working, why its not also released on this page. EDIT: and, even if you do not personally have any desire to use facebook, it doesn't hurt anything to look it up online just to read it. Its an open group, after all.
After having played Planetside 2 since it was in beta and seeing Tiy spend a lot of time on reddit and twitter before May rolled around, I'm not very surprised at all that the official forums are being neglected when such huge things are announced.
"A stable update is coming" But we all already know that a stable update is coming, we just don't know when. 'Tis a silly post. I do appreciate you sharing it here though, so thanks.
Wow Really hope its coming asap! I can't do nightlies.. I want to play without losing progress everyday! I also don't want to play an old version from many months back. So I am stuck waiting for a good fresh update. Once this goes live I plan on playing alot
well they already announced 2 months ago that there will be a stable update.. but with the word soon.. but we all know what soon means to CF xD so stable update will be summer next year
Does anyone know if this new update will wipe characters and/or world progress? Like, will it wipe it if I built a bomb ass house with my best friend, will it wipe that progress? Any response will be appreciated!
we all knew it was "coming soon" it's always "coming soon" Given they hardly EVER update their facebook, I'd say "coming soon" means JUST what it's always meant: "You'll get it when you get it."
The existence of a big update is more or less common knowledge around here, which might explain it. Most people are also well aware of the dev blogs.
probably. they've changed/added/removed items/mechanics, so old characters with those items would immediately b0rk your game.
Um, I have no experience, but I would assume same thing. If there's a thing on your old world that isn't in the new build, it would just crash your game. Or something like that.
