Well, it's nice to feel more... Star-bound once in a while, instead of random-planet-bound. It's just too bad the update will probably come while I'll be most busy at university, so I'm a bit sad I'll be able to enjoy it for quite a while.
It does compute. The design of a station does factor into how defend-able it is. And when your design incorporates more guard rooms, more turrets, more traps. And of course it is optional in that you can currently do all this on the ground... but nothing attacks. I wouldn't mind such a thing as another option ticked on the character creation screen.
I for one am pleased to see a mech hanger bay room. I also wonder what happens if I send the probe to a planet. *Teleports to planet, is in a malfunctioning teleporter and in wreckage of the probe*
This update seems significantly larger than the previous ones.....mechs, NPC ships, space stations and other weird places in space and so on......so I imagine it will need plenty more time.....clearly they haven't yet given much of any thought to balancing the content yet and it's probably not finished either.
Will different races have different station options or will it be just the same sort of space station for all races? Cause i'd very much like to have a floating castle in spess (and totally not a floating chapter monastery i swear). Also that reference in the title. I see what you did there.
It looks like the space station will come with a standard deaign that you can then take out and customize to suit you needs, so if you want a castle interior you can. Exterior features however, would be appreciated for all those fans out there looking for their floating castle, or a Doomship.
it makes a crap ton more sense as a different character option to difficulty but would be irritating to include pre-made characters in having a choice but how logical it is still is limited i would probably just seal the entrances with excessive matter and remove it myself later or teleport in then put death things in the small area's they actually have access too just for free lute..... also i since rally don't think your actual station design would Really matter That much anyway

Because you can't walk on Gas. If only we had some powerful rocket-powered way of moving around and extracting materials, preferably also featuring a horn. Just a suggestion.
Yes, to explore gaseous planets with some vehicle (mech?) And to be able to collect some type of material of manufacture, just as we collect liquids, to be able to collect specific gases. Are they really going to leave the planets gasses of adornment? It would be more interesting to be able to take advantage of them
to do what exactly? It's easy to say take advantage of something without coming up with something real concrete
I think he means, harvest gasses to use in crafting recipes which is, you know, a feature of Frackin'Universe -- the use of gases as crafting materials, AND FU has Gas Planets that are explorable (though special protections and the like are required).
