I'd like to see a Umbrella Weapon (swinging like a sword, secondary mode would be opening the umbrella as a shield from air attacks and for floating), aaand a walking stick (like in Bloodborne, for swinging and a special roundhouse-kick-attack)!
I, as a couple people already mentioned before me as well, miss swords that use an Iaido-type fighting style. Kinda like a blade "hidden" in a modest bamboo sheath that unleashes a single slash when used normally and can block attacks half drawn as it's special move. If the block is timed right as the opponent's hit would be delivered, your char would perform a counterattack in which he slashes through the enemy and stops behind it's back (maybe using the dash animation?). If a projectile was countered, your char would simply send it flying back towards the enemy. Naturally the block ability would've a brief CD period after being used. How bout that? I'd love this to be implemented! Crafting your own personal favorite weapon (maybe by salvaging the handle, blade/head and spare parts of the weapon from found loot) and giving it your desired abilities would be extremely cool. Also I bet such a customization option would be highly regarded by many people! Like your idea @Drakarus Lastly I'd appreciate it if weapons could use more than one hit/shoot animation to spice up combat a bit more. I understand it's a lot of work to create them and that it's no top priority, but I think the encounters would become more interesting that way. For example the 2-handed weapons (spears aside) could not only ever strike with a downward slash, but next time maybe my char uses a horizontal or upward slash. Pls think about this for a bit So far...
A Charged Beam weapon could be nice. or maybe omnislash special skill for katana type sword? those would be cool
I'm sure somebody already mentioned this in the other 11 pages of comments, but a charged sword slash. (A sword that shoots out an energy beam much like the Bloodskal Blade in Skyrim). Oh and also a skill that teleports the player in a line towards the mouse and slashes any enemy in its path.

I wouldn't mind a map feature of some sort so you can see where the hell you've been / are going. I mean, I'd be happy with a 'false colour, one pixel per tile abstraction' sort of thing, with a fog of war. ^^ Edit: Maybe some sort of equippable scanner? With higher tiers giving more and better detailed info? Maps are usually one of the primary features of games involving *exploration*. ^^'
I think It might be better if the player was actually jumping. It'd give you more of a feeling of control over your character.
Melee: -A lunging stab that impales multiple enemies on a blade, doing continuous damage before the blade is ripped out, for further damage. -A pull with a chain/rope with a followup slash/punch (GET OVER HERE!) -A special flaming sword weapon that has a running slash where the blade is impaled into the ground and the area travelled across is set ablaze, doing damage to multiple mobs, with a finishing slash at the end damaging enemies in front of the player -A chainsaw sword/axe/dagger thing that inflicts bleed damage on normal attacks and...actually i cant think of anything for that -A lightsaber-like sword that has an extendable blade that can be extended for a short amount of time to increase range and damage. another idea for this is a thrown lightsaber where the blade spins, but gets smaller over time, limiting the hit radius at longer ranges -a super cool jumping punch attack bc why not -a charged attack (preferably with two handers) that slows the player for a period of time, but inflicts massive damage in a frontal cone, breaking blocks, killing stuff, etc. Note: As a suggestion for special attacks as a whole, maybe have both active and passive specials. Active ones would pause combat and unleash some sort of special attack, while passives wouldnt break the flow of combat and just be special combo attacks, like movement based specials like dashes, lunges, jumps, etc.
Hello again! Here to give my opinion, but this time on the weapons physics: -Only with SOME weapons can you hit multiple enemies. -You get slowed down when carrying heavy weapons. (there may be exceptions) -Weapons that do fire and electric damage glow dimly. -Weapons hit walls, as opposed to going through them. -Momentum based combo's or attacks, to deal more damage i.e. falling while attacking. -Reload delay when you switch to something else while reloading. (for reloading-based guns) Well, that's all I've got to say this time. Have fun and think about these ideas!
They pretty much already have immitated the reload when switching weapons, it is just some have longer or shorter than others. Your Ricochet one does does interesting, although I know that might not what you meant. Still Having a shot to rebound of walls would be nice. As to what actually you meant; you mean the weapon to be half seen when hitting a wall? Like hiding the portion that is through the wall, and show that it doesn't affect through wall. That doesn't affect through wall already is, but the weapon doesn't show it visually. I actually have to say that I wouldn't mind seeing.
You could also add a type of weapon/power similar to magic. For example, you could punch the ground with your fist to create shock-waves, knocking enemies back. also , they could implement buff magic to give yourself a buff that lasts a short time. To even out the magic you could have catalysts that scale the damage/time/effectiveness of the magic. Additionally, a mana/magic bar would be necessary for this mechanic. Finally, these catalysts could change the element of your magic infliction, making them less-potentially overpowered. Just throwing this out there.
Definitely thinking different types of counters. Lunges, upward arch slash for hitting both sides, charge up atk. I would love to see bows get an upgrade maybe giving them a volley skill that shoots multi arrows. For guns i'd say like a three round burst skill, a charge up for certain plasma weapons, grenade launcher attchments for rilfes I would love to see some item combining in the future. The ideas are endless lets see some more and we will definately give you more feedback thnx for the post.
I had a brilliant idea a few minutes ago. Instead of having these specials tied to the weapon, why not the player instead? Equip a special for guns, then no matter which gun your using, you can use the gun special. Same for swords. The specials could be equipped like techs and used with any weapon, but some weapons, like the legendaries, could have a special of their own that overrides yours. (Obligatory request for seeking and guided rocket types)
I would like to see a weapon where if you right click it will shoot what ever update version the game is it (Like in spirited giraffe, shoots a giraffe, enraged koala, shoots a koala, that sorta thing) as like a funny thing
A shotgun with a secondary fire that combines several rounds into a large overpenetrating flechette with a notably greater accuracy, possibly greater velocity as well. A directed energy weapon that emits a radial stun. If you want something wonderfully overcompensatory, a GMG with an attached railgun. And, of course, laser designators for calling in orbital bombardment. I'm gonna have to note a massive DO NOT WANT in regards to this.
