Hey, can we just maybe make this one of the first games that decides to explore the possibilities of what's happening under gas giants? There could be a lot of potentially very interesting biomes regarding landing on a gas giant.
With all due respect, I think your Kid(s) should make & play their own Characters so they can actually experience the game. I wonder if Gas Giant Home Planets would only really be practical for Novakids...?
You should add a pressure meter, where the deeper to go into the core of the planet, the more the heat and pressure increases, forcing you to make better armor so you can go deeper and mine more valuable materials. Planet size and composition may affect pressure/heat levels.
Who knows? No one knows what is within a gas giant, that's why it'd be great to let your imagination run amock! Imagine how beautiful the scenery could be! Deep clouds, colorful skies, scary storms, crazy winds, slimy land creatures, seas of tar/goop, etc.
>.< Great I'm going to see how many hours I've clocked into one thing again and it will age me. I love this idea don't get me wrong but hahaha being reminded of my inability to put something down is sort of interesting to say the least.
That may be your preference, but some people like video-games. They also help keep your mind sharp as long as you aren't vegetating on them all day. Your post is riddled with nonsense. It's like you're providing us all with your cyclic gaming season. The simple fact of the matter is they've got a product that could be a beta release. They just haven't done so, in interest of other things they want to do before releasing it at all, simply put. Let the people ask for beta, let them speculate. Not everyone who wants to play is expecting it to be the best game they've ever played. To date, nothing has sparked my fire the way Black Isle's Infinity Engine games did. A "good idea" would be to enjoy the things you enjoy. You don't need to tell people they should stop gaming at the age of forty, and that they should relinquish those games to their children. I would never have gotten into gaming if not for my grandfather, for example, and he is well over forty.
It would be nice if they released Starbound this month, before some of us go back to university! I don't want to rush anyone though...
I wonder how obvious the presence of the real planet in the menu is. Perhaps the planet you are on will be in the menu? In other news, I do hope the duck is okay.
That is an interesting idea, but you can't simply land on the surface of a gas giant. It doesn't have a surface. Here is a YouTube video that explains what it would be like to land on a gas planet, using Uranus as an example.
Will the world in the start-up screen be the world that you are currently on or just a random world in the system?
i feel the beta is closer than ever. lets start making teams to be ready to explore, do we know how many guys can be in multiplayer mode?
