if its a place that has gas or no oxygen ect. then keep those safety gear on......if a safe place..then automatically stripped or pajamas however the player wants it to be.....and then after sleep automatically eguip the armor back on....also any cryo pod beds or something equal?
Maybe have the player click the dresser to decide what color/type of pajamas to wear and if they don't click a dresser then they have default armor on.
I got a question. If you made your base and go left, will you eventually end up meeting your base again? Like you ran across the whole planet?
Great job I would prefer "stripped of their armor when entering a bed" it is more natural (i wouldn't go to bed with my armor on hehe)
whatever they wear on they should sleep in it , want ur char naked take off armor first easy it will require more work tho for all those armors no?
Maybe there could be a chest of drawers item that allows you to change your vanity slots without returning to the ship. Place it next to the bed and then you can actually get changed and sleep, instead of having it be automatic. That allows for maximum immersion, and everyone gets what they want (except for people who would be very amused by repeatedly going in/out of bed just to watch their character quick-change a bazillion times). Also, I reaaally hope there isn't a sleep mechanic, like the temperature and hunger mechanics. If I'm forced to spend any amount of my time doing absolutely nothing at all just to survive or avoid a debuff or whatever, that would suck to an unbelievable degree. If it was optional, everyone would just play with it off, anyway.
For the sake of simplicity- stripped. I don't particularly mind one way or the other if we can choose pajamas since we'd barely be able to see them anyway on the bed But being in it with full armor is... .... yeah.
yeaaaaahhhh...stripped!!! also...will there be strippers in the game? (this is an important feature, all majors videogames have one!)
Sleeping with armor on kind breaks immersion, doesn't it? Somehow just doesn't make sense, imagine for a second lying in bed in a steel knight armor... kind negates the benefits of having a mattress and a pillow, right?
I would prefer my character simply LOOKS like he's not sleeping in his armor. If I had to manually go back into my inventory and put on armor after every bed rest in the game, then I'd avoid beds at all cost.
"Would you prefer the player to be clothed or stripped of their armor when entering a bed?" Allow the player to make that choice, maybe you could use, like in Sims, or Guild War 2, to select with clohes you want depending on the ocassion, being sleeping one of them. Also this would be great if the player could add more layers of "disguise" just to make a group of items easy to wear, and to make as many groups as you want. I really enjoy to have disguise, and i think this feature may be able to help in the beds issues, but also may be very interesting for players that enjoy having many armors.
Maybe a Sims-esque animation for the player changing clothes and a bag full of stuff beside the bed ?
To answer question about armored or unarmored sleeping. If going to sleep I would prefer my character to take off his "day" clothes and put on night clothes. But if it would be possible than more complicated system would be better - in secured location we are sleeping in night clothes, in dangerous location - in "day" clothes (that is in armor and so).
I'd say nothing automatic, requiring the player to take off all armor. If sleeping without armor, you will when you wake up receive a "Well Rested" buff which is a minor speed boost for quite some time. However keeping the armor on will allow you to stay protected, in case anything attacks you while you sleep. So sleeping without armor will give a buff, and sleeping with armor will keep the protection. Choose depending on situation (like if you sleep outside where there may be enemies).
