What's worse is that considering why it was removed in the first place, when it does come back at least half of those still won't stop because the new "certain feature" won't be exactly like the old implementation. I can practically guarantee it.
Finally! A purpose to farm again! Also I agree with kelthazan, I think the ability to teleport from underground to your ship is a little lame. It gave a certain difficulty to mining.
The rose tinted glasses can do wonders. But then again, it did turn out to be a rather subjective feature. I found it to be hollow and not really adding to the game (if not outright subtracting from the important areas), but others seem to have enjoyed it. Different strokes for different folks.
Just an suggestion, but wouldn't it be better to remove the crafting time for blocks in nightly, since it now takes several minutes to craft a stack of blocks when you want to build a house?
Fossils are the biggest reason I decided to support the crowdfunding campaign so long ago. Can't believe they are finally being implemented!! Yay!!!!
"Being" meaning "been in development for quite a while now and finally at a near-final state", considering how long the minigame has been there and how they recently implemented fossil display stands... but yeah, yay!
I now have a term for placeholder graphic assets that programmers create themselves while they wait for true assets from the creative design team: programmer art.
While it looks fun, people will do it a few times and drop it if it does not add a truly big benefit.
Found a bunch of fossils near my landing in the nightly. Not cheating, so I still need to upgrade my Architect's Table to create a Fossil Worktable.
Survival ? Blood moon is rising !! Can we expect for more gameplay/combat deepness with an equivalent in Starbound ?
The return of a "certain feature" will surely "cook" things off for my char, oow fossils finaly got mention again and even implemented in the nigthly,thanks devs this is the greatest feature that ive been waiting for i can totally "dig" it
at least planetary invasison and raids should happen. Starbounds misses the "action coming to you" feature.
BRING ON THE HUNGER, BABY! I hope Starbound can feel like it used to again, at least someday. The quest progression and story line has become way too linear in my opinion, I preferred the more open, sandbox-orientated atmosphere of the earlier builds. Hopefully these survival-based changes can at least help to make the game feel better in terms of how players' interact with the world... how their actions everywhere affect the world, NPCs, other players and themselves.
As far as I know it is going to be implemented in local quests on planets. I think they spoke about it on some of the videos on Twich. During this quest some bandits or monsters will attack the NPC and you will be left to decide which side to help. Or something like that.
IMHO : the best way to treat cold is to make a long progression of crafting related stuff earlier (even a scarf) and to make the nights colder ; the best way to bring back hunger is by using the energy bar mechanic but reversed and slowed with satiety points per recipe (like energy per shot mechanic, with pizza = 100%) ; and for hazards you should be able to craft suits (diving suits, volcano suits) before to be able to have the OP nanosuits. Done.
