It's kinda funny.. the moment terraria is mentioned people are like "but this game is so much more then terraria", and when a morphball is mentioned/shown people say "You're ruining the game by copying stuff!" Everything has been done before, everything has been thought of. Why don't we just see if we can use old ideas in new ways?
And maybe it won't be useless. They sill could build secret tunnels that you can only explore with the morphball tech. Just like in Metroid
Great points here all of them. I really love your avatar pic too. I would love to have a group that all play as characters from Planet Express.
Maybe it’d be better to give you more substantial weekly updates instead of trying to do them daily or every other day? :O ================== 31 dec stage 1? T_T
I can't believe they actually inputted the Samus Aran ball. Does it also lay bombs and enable you to jump while in ball form?
Where did you get your profile picture? I kinda love it. A lot. Also, can you make the weekly updates a certain day so that we don't have to check the website every day?
OMG!!! I can't believe beta is getting closer and closer! I absolutely can't wait any longer!!! FEED ME BETA!!!
It's from http://versiris.deviantart.com/art/Poe-Collector-205996105 I'm all for these random tech updates. Makes it more like "a game you play your own way". The ability to stop on a dime in the ball seems a little off putting. If I was gonna be in a giant death-fueled power ball, I feel the whole experience would be more engaging if I could careen haphazardly with little to no control over the kind of things I crash into. (step 1, roll into cave, step 2, try to never stop)
Allow me to echo the sentiment in this thread: Go to weekly updates, and don't bother telling us what's up until you have a boatload of goodies, because I know how it is to have to formulate something that goes outside the walls of your company. It takes time. Use the time to get the beta in our hands faster, and don't worry about some of your more rabid fans. They'll get their game. Just like Tiy said, all good games come to those who wait. A great example of a big name gone wrong? Sega was under pressure for thier 15th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). (What with everyone posting about him here... honestly, spindashing should be an upgrade on the morphball. Please. Please. Gotta go fast!) Marketing said "you're too sloowww~" and the game was released about two years too early. I've seen less buggy pre-alphas. I've just rewatched THE Let's Play of Sonic 2006. The glitches. Oh Lord, the glitches. This is such a hilarious thing to watch because of the pain involved. Don't want to watch a 29 hour playthrough? Just go to video #10. Wait for the Mach Speed section. Bask in the glorious failure. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPZd8MPtv0viNz7Ua2QpFQK1-TKi9HVc_ Sonic 2006 is what Chucklefish is avoiding. And for that, I thank them. Keep up the good work, folks. We can wait.
Oh I can't wait. but I actually prerfer it like this to be honest. updates almost all the time, you know what's going on, what to expect, what things will come, and which will go away again. Keep up the good work!
Initially, I thought I think Nintendo's gonna sue someone... But then I remembered that Sonic the Hedgehog got away with it, and all was good.
This looks great. I like the idea of being able to shrink the character so you can get through smaller holes. Would love to be able to morph into a rat, for example, to evade enemies through small holes or just create a shortcut out of a base..
well considering there is only ~6 weeks of 2013 left maybe you guys should make a tentative beta anouncement, since it seems to be 31 dec atm, and drop the updates altogether in a sprint for the finish line.
yaaaaay ! Morphball ! Beside, weekly or daily updates, just as long as there are updates (even if I'll miss my daily drug if it goes the weekly way).
If they do, I probably won't be able to control my joy. On the other hand, I won't have any excuses to not re-create Zebes in-game... Uh-oh.
