I was agreeing with him though, no rebuttal was necessary to begin with. Plus, he implied that I was 'derailing' an entire game from one aspect, assuming I suddenly despise the product because of one minor detail. My post, which he was debunking, started with, "I disagree with him (the OP)..." if my post was actually understood, he would know that that is not what I think, and if he wanted to make a point (which he did very well, i might add) he would have posted it underneath the actual person, instead of a reply.
I was wondering if people think Starbound needs these sort of "keys" Are techs going to be optional? or are you going to have to have tech A B and C so you can get to certain areas? will the morphball tech always be found in the same place so that you can find it to get past a certain dungeon? or will you have to grind for it and hope it drops just so you can move on in the game? neither option sounds good to me in a game like Starbound. also let me just go on the record and say i DO like Metriod. its a great game. But the ball was a for solving puzzles, and restricting access to area. Im just curious what role it will play in starbound. if its just a fan service that is fine too.
Oh man, I just pre-ordered the game yesterday and i'm still listening to the soundtrack.. It's music to my ears! On topic, that Metriod ball feature looks boss! Perhaps it's for quickly rolling from A to B, or maybe it could be a cool way of dodging or rolling into enemies Maybe if you were to hold the use button to roll, you could charge it up to be a little more potent
Congratulations mortal! I am glad to see you join many others in the great evolution. This is also a very interesting idea you have posed.
Thanks man, iv'e had my eye on game for a while now (sheer brilliance btw) and I just HAD to pre-order I'm actually wondering how the tech is gonna work like this? There is a morph ball, but will there be more? Upgraded versions of things that you will have to explore and gather materials for?
I wonder if this increases your defense... _________________________ Anyways, since they're trucking along to beta, lets do the math... Remember i49? yeah, everyone does It took 31 starbound daily updates after molly announced that it was going to be at i49 after the 14th update, ordona/legris said that i49 was over so, we basically have to wait about... a month for stage three to release. divide that by two is 15.5 days. so, thats when stage two should come out then divide 31 by three... and thats... 10.3333333333... so basically, stage one should release in a week or more! that is, if you do the math... or i just might be high
Cept hes a mod not a devloper So he knows the same amount of info we do So why don't you get off your high horse. Also im ok with Weekly updates. no you just found half life 3s release date
The number of times the words "high horse" and "white knight" has been used in this forum is too goddamn high. Stahp.
Metroid in general sir. (Morph ball was introduced in Metroid for the NES which clearly was an amazing title!! One of my favorites actually !
I now officially love CF with all of my heart and soul, because now it appears that they have knowledge of Metroid. You guys are the best developers ever. :'D You should release a Varia Suit cosplay set as well!
That hit me right in the nostalgia. Metroid was my favorite game as a kid and this means a lot to me that you guys added this into the game. Thank you for your amazing work!
Considering Starbound, Terraria, and other games like it are effectively procedurally-generated Metroidvanias, it would make quite a bit of sense that the Starbound team would know Metroid. Still, the morph ball tech is just too damn awesome for me to handle. I've played every Metroid game except Prime Pinball, and finished every one except Metroid II: Return of Samus, Metroid Prime Hunters, and the original Metroid (but I've finished Zero Mission multiple times, so...). I really hope that it'll be possible to incorporate it into some dungeon puzzles, or even morph ball bombs!
