That would be nice, I'm not looking forward to joining servers populated by people followed around by their little turd pets. I might even run my own server and have them replaced with a different model all together just to avoid that scenario. EDIT: Hell, this feels like Mists of Pandaria. Where people are going nuts because they'll get to play as a fat and lazy panda man and I'm just sitting there like "No more WoW for Sousuke."
This is basically the same reaction people had to Jarate when Valve released it as a weapon in Team Fortress 2. Talk about flashbacks.
Removing part of a creative work is removing part of a creative work. I don't see how you've convinced yourself that the size of the piece you cut out changes the fact that you cut out a piece. I'm not saying that it's super significant. I'm saying that changing someone else's creative work to suit your ideals is silly. Nowhere am I saying 'you'd change the whole game by doing that'. Which is what you seem to be reading. I'm just saying that it's no different than whiting out parts of a book you don't like. Actually, I guess it is technically different- it's a little harder to do. But that's it.
I can agree with hoping this is just some kinda Trolling Prank from Tiy... maybe the Devs got sick & tired of people demanding them to release a crappy product immediately, so they gave those people the crappy results they desired... now see what ya 'BETA NOW!!!' complainers have done...?
I never claimed that it changes that we cut out a piece, however the severity is completely different. Not if its an interactive production designed to entertain YOU rather than the creator. Calling video game modding "silly" is a fascinating stance that I have never seen before, do you also dislike Elder Scrolls modding? And I maintain that the two aren't even related.
Trying to understand that post was quite a task. Anyway, I'm glad you agree. I think? You should try being more coherent in the future. Your spelling and paragraph formatting especially needs work.
Haha, how very Japanese! Long thread so it has probably already been mentioned, but in Japan they have all sorts of accessories with those little poop things. Even golden poop!
Awesome! a poo monster to kill whenim bored! It would be cool if theese monsters would drop something rare.
Im an exchange student there, so im actually American haha. I haven't seen any poop accessories yet, but a lot of people, especially girls, like to hang little cute charms off their phones and such, kinda like the picture
I have to add here; Apex should have a special ability that allows them to throw these guys. That is all.
I personally think that the poop thing is a joke. If you ask me, it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the game. But hey. it's cute. Maybe a beta-only thing? Like an easter egg almost.
We'll not get the game we need.. we'll get the game we deserve. And apparently, what we deserve are the Po. Yay for doublejump! A symantic question though. Aren't randomly generated monsters more "unique" then specifically designed monsters?
I specifically chose a very insignificant example in my first post on the subject here. Changing a character's fate, who either way does not appear in the story again. Tiny, miniscule thing, yet changing it for any reason is just... well, I use the word silly a lot here, because it's accurate. So in actuality, the 'severity' of what you're talking about is more significant than my example. Do you disagree that the example I gave is a silly thing to do? Because if so, we aren't capable of having a useful discussion here. Is it the 'interactive' bit that makes it different? How? All forms of entertainment are 'designed to entertain YOU rather than the creator'. Unless they literally make it for themselves alone and just happen to sell it because they felt like it after the fact, the goal of reaching an audience is the same. And I never said I have a problem with modding. I am specifically talking about removing things simply because you don't like them. Mods that add content are great- equate those to 'extended universe', fanfiction, whatever. Mods that remove content? Incomprehensible. Tear out some pages from that book and call it a mod. Clip out that scene from the movie and call it a mod. Skip that episode of the tv show... et cetera. In my version of the mona lisa, she's bald, because I feel that hair is stupid. You maintain an incorrect position. It's exactly the same thing in all but name. Either way, it's fine if you want to do it. But don't pretend it's anything but what it is. Or do pretend that and call it a reality mod, I guess.
Well, everyone mods a game the way it feels it's right but in my point of view I never modded a game until I started to get bored with it, then I look out fore some mods to have a different gameplay experience. Piswydt: There will be a lot of type shit to change xd and a poo boss I'm sure. It will be fun to find the quest: kill stinky little bears and his big mother the big and mighty bear xd
I do, because theres nothing silly about modifying something insignificant with a miniscule amount of effort in order to maximize the amount of entertainment you get out of a product designed to entertain you. If anything, its silly not to try and get the most out of your entertainment. Its different in that we have the capability to modify this. You enjoy a game based on the experience you build for yourself, not the experience the developers build for you. That is the key difference. You enjoy a book because it tells you a pre determined story, you enjoy a sandbox game because, wait for it, its a sandbox and you build your own story and experience. This analogy is false due to the reasons I give above. The way we get entertainment from a book is completely different to what we get from a video game. I don't think its silly to remove content you don't like in order to maximize the experience you can build for yourself. If you don't want to do that, then fine, but it isn't silly by any means to make a video game the best it can be in YOUR eyes. If you can tailor a sandbox game the way you like it, why wouldn't you? All of these analogies are just as false as the book analogy for the same reason. No, actually they are fundamentally different, but whatever, you can hold that opinion if you want. But I think its dead wrong. EDIT: By your logic, it would be silly to destroy a pre-determined building or natural structure in the game because the developers put it there.
poop monster and sentient? I'm afraid to go to the bathroom xD but it would also be nice to have her as pet xD
I was waiting until someone suggested that A game should not be completed until there is a poo creature out there, this is a good development progress
