400 MB patch today?

Whats this patch for I already downloaded the latest one the other day?

 

if by other day you mean like yesterday then this is like a hot fix or so i've read

hot fixing an issue that caused stutters for people on low end computers. Also making the unpacker safer to use. Patch soon

 

Also downloading 494.9 Mo right now, which seems to be the same amount as the Furious Koala patch that I already downloaded yesterday. Hmmm, a little much for a hotfix (source please?), but if that's all there is, then I guess everything is OK.

The hotfixes always redownload nearly the entire client due to the nature of beta.

That said, assume every time there's a download there's fixes. Which... is not really a problem, I suppose.

 

I still hope it's changed soon. I feel bad for the slow internet/bandwidth cap players...

so 2 hotfixes for furious koala? Do they add anything new that the main patch didn't or are they merely stutter fixes?

 

After the hotfix my game takes forever to start up again, before it it was almost instant. :c

 

They did say that patches would be coming almost daily. File size is large due to the format of the core game files.

 

Yeah, while it would be nice if the patches could be smaller, we were warned.

It is kinda funny that when CF took time off for the holidays and then took some time to add the "no character wipes" to an update, lots of people were quoting this post where it said, "Updates will come thick and fast, sometimes as often as multiple updates a day."

Anyone who has some tight caps on monthly data might want to disable automatic updates for Starbound. That way, you can choose when to get the update and manage your limits more precicely.
