4 Starbound wikis

Well when I asked about an official wiki earlier in the month I was told that the devs do not like the idea of a wiki for this game. I mean sure they can't really stop the community from making one, but it seems unlikely they'll endorse one.

 

Could you tell me why, or link me to the thread please?

 

Multiple wikis are no good, all data is dispersed. Combine into one wiki and we got something good.

 

None of them is really more "official" than the others, it's just that that one is hosted by Curse rather than a free wiki site (Wikia) or an individual.

 

The Curse wiki isn't exactly active

 

Upon checking each of the wikis' Novakid pages [except the italian wiki and starboundwiki.org], Starboundgame.wikia.com is the only one that does not disappoint.

There was like 3 Terraria wiki's when it was fairly popular. There's not much you can (and not much I would want to) do. Just let them be and let the people decide which they like most and then it will be the one that everyone visits.

 

It will thin out over time on its own. People will choose 1-2 main wikis and they will get all the support, while the others fall behind and go offline.

 

I'll be avoiding any wikis. Kind of ruined similar games in the past. Especially considering this game seems to cater to newcomers nicely.

 

Well starboundgame wikia has something starbounder doesn't have. I'm not saying Starboundgame wikia has the right information. They're just a tad bit closer, but not completely right... But I'd rather not discuss those here.

No no, Starbounder has a really nice vibe to it and so far looks very well-organized and fancy. The only reason I'm disappointed is because of personal 'not really that much of a big deal but I tend to make it a big deal then tell people it isn't really but in my mind it really is' thing.

I think it's a bad thing that there are so many wikis. It's a waste of time, if only they were consolidated so that more quality information can be put on one or two sites instead of users having to find info on 5+.

 

Imagine if someone made a second Wikipedia. Yeah, it does sound dumb. Yall need to learn to consolidate your resources. I would suggest focusing on http://starbound.gamepedia.com/Starbound_Wiki, because it's the most professional and best laid out.

 

That doesn't even have novakids...
