... Am I the only one who sees threads like this popping up all the time now that the road map is out?

Oh dear. Lets keep up the patience and the microcalculations of how well the game is doing down. After all the importance of some tasks are more so than others, so a minute calculation based on percentages would be misleading at best and hope-crashing at its worst.

When DID the game development first start? I was looking for a date but couldn't find one.

 

The website first showed up in Febuary 2012, but I have a feeling it started a month earlier.

4 months from now. Puts it in July. That sounds about right. I'd say that's a good estimate.

Well, I had to play a science fiction game so I just got Endless Space.

Btw, how do you guys figure it will be done 4 months from now? If the game is 70% complete and it's been in development since last February that means 30% more equals 6 months, and if development actually started earlier the estimated time left would be more than 6 months. I'm going to hope for a July/August release, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's more around October/December...

 

70% is pretty good since they only had a year and a bit on it.

 

I thought I read somethine like we shouldn't take that 1:1 as a real state of progress... it's merely a vague shade of the way that has been walked.

 

I think I said it, but Im also pretty sure Im not the only one. Calculating the games completion will only cause your hopes to be crashed on the rocks of impatience when the game doesnt come out when you particularly want it to. Not trying to be nasty or anything, just an observation.

In better and simpler words though, Hype is your enemy, despite how awesome it feels at first. I think there was some chart explaining it too.
