I'm curious... What exactly are the differences between laser weapons and solid stuff? I mean, in most sci-fi games I played laser weapons are placed in the energy-based weapon category, which are weapons that always ignore physical armor. So... Lasers have unique properties or are simply a skin for high tier weapons?
this is going to help my star wars mod alot with lightsabers that go back in the hilt.. gonna look epic and great work with the art work for the new gear
Hmm... this last Weapon, the Lasergun, there is only one thing that comes me in mind: Never cross the Streams! xD
no offence but don't we already have laser weapons? this new weapon is just a plasma stream so it's basically like a flame thrower but with plasma it's still cool tho
These are truly laser weapons. In a sense, yes we technically had laser weapons, though in code they were always just several bullets shot in rapid succession with sprites made to look like a laser. But if this is to be believed, it's basically like a hitscan laser, more in fashion with actual lasers instead of multiple bullets. Plus it would lag less. The new Laser guns (from what I observed) have 0 travel time. For anyone familiar with FPS Mechanics, it's basically a Hitscan weapon unlike your current guns where bullets have a slow enough travel time for you to see the individual bullets.
In Star Wars we had a lightsabers. In Terraria we had a phaseblades and a phasesabers. In Starbound we (will) have a lasersword, laserbow, lasergun and other laserweapons. Starbound-we make everything better, than the others!
Will we get laser axes or spears? Cause I like spears and I'm sure the floran that's gonna be in my crew would enjoy having one

we need laser masks that fire lasers out of their mouths =o oh oh what about laser grappling hooks? =D and laser aeroskating boots! and laser goggles that shoot lasers out of your eyes and lets you see in the dark! and laser pants! (and shirts. and hoodies/skii masks. and gloves. and boots. that glows in the dark even as an outfit!) edit: now i just need a vanilla way to get out of my ship if i start a new game!
Will weapons like these be generated or will everyone who's using them have the exact same weapons (defeating the purpose of randomly generated weapons)?
