Holy crap people. Maybe the Florans in that particular picture are the progenitors to the modern Florans that didn't look as violent, leafy, and plant-like. Maybe they're a different race that created the Florans, I don't know their lore, or something. Everybody calm down, I'm sure the Florans look just as they do in the sprites and the wallpapers. We should all probably wait 'till we get to watch the whole, finished, complete intros before we start rioting over nothing.
You better be right or I will be very disappointed and sad. This got my hype of being a Floran down to maybe 0%.

why are the florans mouths human looking? i thought they had giant mouths full of razor sharp teeth. I also thought they didn't have noses.
Calm down? This forum really doesn't like any sort of negative criticism at all. Everyone is calm, we're just stating our opinion. Not everyone's opinion is gonna be all positive every time. I feel like this forum is afraid to criticise the developers at times.

Those big, round, sad-looking eyes just don't seem to fit the whole Floran motif. Plus, the two look to be female and male. Well, maybe they aren't Florans. Maybe they're alien researchers attempting to disguise themselves as Florans while doing research. The barbaric part of the intro could be that they are discovered and eaten.

Sure, using a pixel art style for the in-game art works great because of the sprites and 2D environment, but it doesn't work as well with the intro art. I think the intro art would benefit so much more from a more tradition digital style. I don't see why they couldn't hire an extra artist to do them as well. Not dissing Legris' skill at all, he is an amazing artist. Just saying that the intros would suit a different art style.
Until now i wanted to play a floran cause the sprites looked cute.. but if they look like this i dont will play one. Also i dont think that intros are really needed in a sandbox game like this... in my opinion its better to leave such things to the imagination of the player. Yeah, i know, i could still make my own story, but the pic is a turn off for me. Thank you anyway for making such a wonderful game, really looking forward to play it.

Im starting to die over here lol I really don't know how these people have the patients they do, because I'm biting at the bit to play, YOU PEOPLE HAVE THE PATIENT OF SAINTS!!!!! Btw I have a feeling those aren't quite the floran that are playable... maybe they are the reason that you had to leave your homeworld, the douchey ski jacket alien floran are taking over
Like everyone else said, if those are supposed to be Florans in the screenshot, they look really, REALLY bad, and nothing like Florans. The background and clothes are fine, but the face looks absolutely nothing like the art we've seen of the Florans so far. The Avian intro, while not as offensive, was also sub-par. I really hope legris knows what he's doing and that these are quick mock-ups because they need a LOOOOOT of work.
