Sorry man, I'm sure your alert box is being spammed. Quoting this for what I'd like the florans to look like. I fell in love with them based off of the original art that we were presented with... the art in the daily update makes florans look very unappealing to me. The paintover is much closer to what I imagined and would love.
I went to the trouble to dig up some of the older official artwork of the Florans. This right here is what gave me the desire the play the Florans before other races.
In my opinion Florans should also dress more like a tribe, so how it looked on the artworks. Though who knows them,can take clothes from the hapless victims. : )
Oh wow, I didn't realize the differences were so drastic. I really see what you guys are all hyped up about now! However, doesn't Chucklefish technically have the final say on how the race will look? Fan-made or not it's still Chuckle's game and if they want the mouth to be humanoid and not that more carapace/insectoid style..then it's really their decision. On the flipside they do look like Greys that have fallen into green paint and a garlin stapled to their heads. The fan-original mouth looks more hostile and gives off that more "I might be a plant but I do devour flesh" kind of feeling of beauty but a dark side to them too. +1 for the fan-original mouths!
Well, I don't want to debate the whole "whose game is this" argument too much, but I'll say that while Chucklefish is responsible for developing the game and I'm positive they want it to be as enjoyable as possible, it was also funded via preorders (and judging from the numbers it seems like quite a bit of cash), so if it doesnt please the pre-order crowd then it probably isn't a good move. But either way I'm sure Chucklefish want us to enjoy the game as much as they do, so it is important to provide feedback like this so they know what we are happy about and what we think needs improvement.

This is exactly how I imagined them. Just look at Meet the Florans . And tell me that this isn't how they're supposed to look. Also why the heck do the florans in the intro have nostrills if they evolved from plants? They don't need to breathe with lungs?!
I thought florans were plants, so I'm intrigued as to why they have noses. Plants don't exactly have respiratory systems. They just synthesise through their leaves, or skin in the case of florans, logically speaking.
How to start a shit storm. Not official guide in five simple steps: 1) Make an interesting race in game. 2) Wait some time, for this race to get pretty big amount of fan art, fans, etc. 3) Make an intro trailer which is STYLIZED (IMO) to be something like DRAWINGS OF ANCIENT PEOPLE(seriously, look at picture. Humans weren't very artsy back then) 4) ... 5) PROFIT!! Still, though, "overpainted version" is bit better. Original don't gives the "feral" feel of florans i have. And they have noses. Plants with noses.
Well. Avian's intro wasn't that bad (it wasn't great neither), but these florans are hideous tbh. Game itself looks great, but intros.
