    You make the metalwork station, get the MK map, and you'll be able to craft better items and get to Beta galaxies.

    But how do I use the MK beta ship item thingy? where do I put it? or use it? or drop it?

    For reference in case others have the issue: once you craft the new starmap, you 'use' it on yourself like a bandage or food. I don't know if you have to be on your ship for it to work (I was and it worked fine).
