3D printer icon poll on Tiy's twitter

I don't use twitter so I can't.

 

First one. Seems like a nice generic universal symbol for 3D solids, so it has an obvious meaning relating to a 3D printer. The other two just look like random strange symbols, possibly of some military organization.

 

The First one looks like some old computer software icon....

 

BTW, what does the 3D printer do? I never read anything on it

 

it's the starbound way of crafting your own weapons, you 3D print 'em

I really like the first one this thread really could have done well with a poll.

 

I voted for the first one via twitter.

Honestly I don't like any of them. I don't think they truly represent what the 3d printer really does.

 

Totally want the third one, I like the border.

 

Every one wants the other, they should make this a option in the option menu. so every one gets what they want.

not to be negative, but i don't really think any of the 3 are that great...
what if instead of just a bunch of 3D(?) images, the icon showed a 3D object in the process of materilizing?

I did but with a different take, more pixel spray building than beam of light replication.

 

yep yep, that's the point! IMO the icon should be the process of printing, not the object itself, got my idea?

I kinda have to go with: Neither.
As said before, the icons have no direct relation to 3d printing. Could just a well use the picture of a cat.
I suggest the one 3 posts above me: (Although the cube moved slightly to the right.)

 

I picked the second one in the twitter poll because of how it fits into Starbounds art style.
You're not seeing a bunch outlined humans and aliens in starbound, that would just look silly.

 

Can't really choose, the third one needs its borders improved, but it fits the whole 3D printer theme, the second one looks better right now, but the third should be the choice after some fixing.

 

Sorry. I pretty much just wanted to make sure people on the forums saw the tweet. Don't really know how to set up polls.

It looks like he decided on the 2nd one if the progress report is set. We'll see.
