Closed 3D printer capacity

So, I have a number of characters, but right now I'm just using two of them: an old one who's Tier 10, and a new one who just unlocked Beta Sector.

I scanned a frog statue into the printer of the new character, printed three of them, and then later discovered I didn't have that entry for the old character; it's not showing up in search results. So, while I thought I'd scanned one at some point previously, I figured I was mistaken and would scan another one.

However, having moved a statue to a planet both characters are orbiting, and having thus transferred the statue from one character to the other, the statue is not scanning for the old character.

So Question A: is there a finite number of items the 3D printer can hold, and Question B: does the printer start wiping entries when it gets "too full?"

I had this issue with lore, where books started getting deleted when I accrued a large number of them (I have 25 entries and the earliest is the Bone Dragon) and it seems plausible that I might have scanned the frog statue on a previous occasion and that the entry was wiped in order to make space for other things.

 

Not at all, man. In one of my chars, I have ALL of the scan-able stuff (or at least, all those the wiki mentions) in my scanner already, and I've never seen anything disappearing.
