i do really like that toxic biome as well.. its what i liked and drawn me to see what it did by doing it and i do hope that um.. they will add in more biome that had radiation or hazard that can damage you unless you had some bio hazmat suits or something like that
I have only one question, is there a way to see what is on the bottom of the poison ocean without dying? it would be lovely to have poison resistance perhaps on a suit if only just for the occasion. however that would require pure toxic planets without radiation. plus it would open up the path for poison planet quests plus how about the poison gass in the air? I havent found much of a poisonous atmosphere in these planets. just oceans. so it might be nice to have poison gass floating around in the air. or maybe even a slight green haze of poison.
Right now, in the real world, humanity has access to a total of one planet and businesses are still happy to destroy it for a short-term profit. Which is probably for the best because if we ever got as far as FTL travel and terraforming, woe betide the entire universe.
Funny you say that; they just added a new "Mutant" armor set last night. Seen here next to the (also new) "Buzzy" set from the Giant Flower mini-biome: (both on my green Novakid) Said on a developer livestream the day before yesterday: "The next Stable update is a few weeks away, minimum. We definitely want to make sure it's good and that we've got everything we want in it." (Source Transcript) Not only are they coming back, they got bumped up to surface mini-biome status after their revamp. (The Heck biome was renamed Flesh, as mentioned on a livestream a few days ago.) Everything is still procedural. You are only seeing a small snippet of the biome here, and only on a single planet. Each planet will be different, since they also redid the many (usually 5-8) parallaxes, lighting schemes, plants, blocks, trees, microdungeons, etc. You could visit 4 Toxic planets and only the general theme would be the same, since each planet chooses which of those it uses at random There are several old variations of shipwrecks in the assets, but aren't set to spawn anywhere. They have been revamping Ocean planets over the past month though, and I haven't looked at those microdungeons yet. I think it is quite likely that some of them are shipwrecks. Toxic planets do not currently have surface mini-biomes, nor are their Toxic mini-biomes on other planets. However, before 1.0 we will get "endgame planets". These planets are special, and would actually have main biomes within main biomes: Tiyuri: "The Story update will implement endgame planets. Endgame planets will be large planets with far more biome variety than usual. They will have main biomes within other biomes, so you can have a Volcanic section of a Forest planet, for example." (Source Transcript) Yea, this is the wrong place. Picking up Light Streaks at the Ark is a known bug. Vehicles are not being worked on right this second. They are going to get a lot of work several updates from now, as the next Stable updates are Colony > Combat > Story/Vehicle. (Source Transcript) Ship to ship combat is still planned, but not until after launch (1.0). << They added a Toxic Waste Block on Thursday, among other things like a new Toxic grass type. Yes, it is on the Nightly build now. . P.S. If you have the time, I encourage reading the transcripts from the 3 developer live streams this past week. All of them have tons of juicy info about the next several updates. (that link is the 1rs one, and links to the next 2 at the top of it) (If you don't get to them, I'm going to condense them into a mega-news post soon.. just not sure exactly when that will be complete.)
Oh realy? Well, we will glad to have your skull in our collection. Generalissimo Dimitry Kragerov U.S.C.M army of the "New-Earth". ~New order of U.S.C.M empire.
"Learning from your mistakes" is likely not profitable in this case. Destroy a world then moveing on to the next is likely more profitable then making sure you dont destroy the first one . (And i know that this thinking is really fucking wrong, but greedy people tend to do stuff like this all the time irl (only on a smaller scale thus far) so i wouldn't be surprised if they did the same stupid thing in starbound).
Dosent antidote do that? Its been ingame for a long time. (Pick up bio samples from a jungle biome to craft said antidote).
well unless done with a mod i don't think that will happen, The way some posts have been talking about it they are making it so the main end game goal for all races is to defeat the tentacle monsters that destroyed the Earth.
Somewhat reminds me of the wasteland mod, I do love the concept though, and the background is beautiful. Great job!
Look, there's pickles in this tree ! Otherwise, when the update will be out I will make an artificial toxic biome in my underwater lab.
I do remmeber at least one person saying some thing about that, Saying that from the currant version of the game it would actually make the new humans players make would be the decedents of the humans who left Earth after it's destruction although the story message still talks about them having just fled Earth as it was being destroyed.
Looks nice though i think it would be nice to have some buildings closer with a little more colour to them
Hmm... More things to collect... Looks interesting enough. Now we need a junkyard biome type similar to deponia or wally. That would be an interesting addition to industrial disaster. Or maybe a galaxy angels reference of a becon that once was active and created a graveyard of ships on a planet. Anyway just would be nice to see more biomes in general. maybe post release, if not sooner with mods... Although prefer things being base game. Good just seeing things getting a touchup or additions.
